Hard boiled

The shape of an egg has always interested me. While painting these I noticed the peeled egg turn slightly yellow from sitting out in the air. I wanted to capture the difference between the peeled and unpeeled texture and colors. The antique salt shaker was found in my grandmother's things. The challace reminded me of one used in the movie where Indiana Jones and his father found The Holy Grail. I named the painting "Hard Boiled." The painting has a strong symbolic feeling and significance for me, (the eggs, the salt, the holy grail,) but I am not sure what.
