It has been almost a year since the last Newsletter and a lot has happened with the lives of many of us Brentonians.... Our call for a “Since Brent …” forks-in-the-road essay has yielded only a few entries and they are shared with you under that column heading. I know … we are all very busy. The most significant news, at least from my standpoint, (since I will have to ramp up on my PageMaker knowledge) is the decision by Sally Thomas Ramirez to retire to Panama. - Not Panama City, FL, but P.A.N.A.M.A – like in country. Sally has managed to find paradise to retire to far away from the worries of putting the Newsletter together and other stresses of life in general. She has graciously offered to do this issue with plans to move to Bocas del Toro, Panama by October 1st this year. So, the next issue might come to you composed by a Quill pen and sketches rather than her artistry and talent. I wonder if they have DSL in Panama …? The West Coast group has been meeting, arranging, and coordinating the 2004 Reunion plans under the leadership of Ann Lafferty Neal. If you recall, she was the one who put Maggie and Cindy up to nominating her for the task at the last Reunion. A date has been set and a location selected. Mark you calendars! October 29th -31st, 2004 at Asilomar, CA is the time and place. Ann’s team of Eddy Pay, Walter Grubbs, Nancy Schultz, Brooke Bourland, Chester Judah, and Lani have been busy coordinating the scheduling and planning of events and activities. Ann and her team of Magnifisant-7 (I can’t wait for The Dirty Dozen) will be providing a more detailed venue by next issue. So, start thinking now about vacation schedules, airline tickets, pet kennels, mail delivery suspensions, paper boy notice, medical needs, savings tap, next of kin notifications, etc. because we are only less than a year-and-a-half away from that event. It promises to be a great Reunion with a lot of newly found Brentonians. We have added a new column heading (mainly because we are running out of interesting topics) for this issue titled e-Mail … . We receive a lot of your e-mails with interesting news that can be shared with everyone in its raw form (for the most part). So, instead of extracting the text, we have decided to just have a column that contains interesting e-mails from you. I have tried to contact all of you to insure there are no objections to see your e-mail in print, and so far have had no reservations by anyone. For our other “standard” headings, you will still find our Mini Reunion … column and our Lost & Found. Enjoy what is left of the summer. By next issue Ann will provide us with many details of the upcoming reunion. Stay tuned. Roy McDonald ('63) Recent finds are Roxanne Taylor and Sue Landgraf . You can find the addresses for the above in http://www.oocities.org/brentonians/address.html The search is still on for: Marilyn Simonson (’63) Donna McCue (’65) Elaine Simonson (’64) Kathy Safford (’65) Sandy Selwyn (’66) Norman Aguinaldo (’63) David Yu (’62) Mike Adams (’63) JimHilgendorf '64 and friends enjoying Mardi Gras in Rio!
