THE GMS LEGION CONCORDANCE
into Royal Flush,
updated 7-5-00
Part Two
VILLAINS
The 2-D MAN: Marked
by his paper-like appearance, this criminal had operated in the Southeast
for many years. His black market leather ring brought him into conflict
with the Legion after he murdered Rick WEDNESDAY. (Whatever Happened to
the Class of '86?)
ADVENTUROUS ARCHIE:
Referred to in The Return of the Chrome Crusader
as an old foe defeated by ICARUS.
Dr. ASPHALT: Referred
to in The Man from the 200th Century, he apparently destroyed the
Griffin Middle parking lot and was defeated by MATTER
LAD and COLOSSAL KID. He is
referenced again in part 2 of Royal Flush, wherein CAPTAIN FANTASTIC related that a few weeks
prior to that story, the McMONEY
EAGLES also defeated him.
BALL BOY: Since
episode 3 of The Sniffin Middle Affair, this odd villain, marked
by his oily hair and ability to balloon up to large, bouncing size, has been
a minor thorn in our heroes' sides. He reappeared, working with DRAINO, Dan
GREENBrenda BONES and in episodes 4-6 of War at Scandal
High. He later claimed to be reformed (Whatever Happened to the Class
of '86? part 5), but the Legion turned him down for membership. Scorned,
he took up with THE LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL
in episode 2 of Walls of Jericho and was expelled from public school
for his actions.
Brenda BONES: A
large-breasted skeletal figure with a mop of red hair. She claimed that
prolonged exposure to Duran Duran had wasted away her flesh, and formed an
alliance with Dan GREEN and BALL BOY in order to get the drugs that would
make her normal again in War at Scandal High episode 6.
CAPTAIN CORPORATE: Nothing
about this character is known other than his arrest by the Legion, which
was mentioned in Slaves of the Machine God.
CHAMELEON COMMANDER:
A member of the LEGION OF SCANDAL
HIGH SCHOOL with the ability to alter his body's shape and size. He
escaped capture at the close of Walls of Jericho by transforming into
a bug and is still at large.
CHANA PURI: With
his assistant KHEER, he travelled from India
to destroy the ENFORCER in The Man
With Three Shadows. He claimed to be an assassin from the 14th Continuum
and was heralding the rebirth of Kali. He had the power to warp reality
and based those realities around his strange sense of humor. He was killed
by MATTER LAD, but not before
warning that the ENFORCER's death will
mean the end of the world.
CHROMIUM QUEEN: She
possesses one of the strangest powers the Legion has faced: the ability
to change any color into another. Introduced in episode 1 of Walls of
Jericho, she didn't make full use of this power until part 7, wherein
she blinded most of the team by turning their perception of everything into
red and green. She was expelled along with the rest of THE LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL in part 8.
She resurfaced in The Criminal Fraternity, living with NEMESIS BOY and a new member of the vengeful
FURIOUS FOUR. This time she
demonstrated new art-based talents, including the ability to pass from the
material world into a painting, and refined versions of her earlier color-based
attacks that made her a formidable foe indeed.
Mr. CLEAN: The 2-D MAN referred to this villain
in Whatever Happened to the Class of '86? part 4. He apparently fought
the Legion, but that has not been recorded.
COMMODORE PLATINUM:
A foe recalled by VIRUS
in a dinner-time story in episode two of The Man With Three Shadows.
The DICTATOR (deceased):
A murderer who wore Nazi swastikas and carried a large
axe, he was a member of the first FURIOUS FOUR
and in some way controlled PALIDUS,
but never let the others in on that monster's origin. He was introduced in
episode 5 of The Sniffin Middle Affair and died in the explosion at
the end of that episode.
DRAINO: One of
the original members of the FURIOUS FOUR,
he is a bank robber and hired gun who must breathe ammonia to live and whose
"death-hand" disintegrates anything it touches. He can project this energy
a few meters with decreasing effect. Draino was introduced in episode 5
of The Sniffin Middle Affair. In parts 4 and 5 of War
at Scandal High, he was working with PALIDUS,
Dan GREEN and BALL BOY in a drug operation. He reappeared
in part 2 of Walls of Jericho, earning a $1000 bribe for taking a
fall to make The LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL
look good. He resurfaced some months later, trying to rob a nearby bank
in Slaves of the Machine God, but a small group of Legionnaires
apprehended him. In prison, and during the events of The Criminal Fraternity,
he was recruited by NEMESIS BOY and
busted out by CHROMIUM QUEEN in order
to form a new FURIOUS FOUR, again with
Palidus. This bid also failed and Draino was returned to prison.
DREAM KING: This
villain appeared in Fear of Flying, working with Mr. EAGLE in a bid to kill
the Legion with violent nightmares. By disconnecting him from his power
source, PHANTOM
LASS apparently threw him into the team's bad dreams. He has
not been seen since.
The FURIOUS FOUR: There
have been two incarnations of this team, the first featuring GREEN QUEEN, DICTATOR,
DRAINO and PALIDUS, and the second DRAINO, PALIDUS,
CHROMIUM QUEEN and NEMESIS BOY. The first team was only shown
active in episode 5 of The Sniffin Middle Affair, after which DICTATOR died. GREEN
QUEEN went her own way while DRAINO
and PALIDUS worked as hired guns for
various criminal groups. The second team was formed in The Criminal Fraternity.
GARGALAX the DESTROYER:
Referred to by Sheila McDONALD in episode 2 of School
Rules. The team apparently saved the students from this menace.
The GENTLEMAN JUGGLER:
Referred to in The Man from the 200th Century,
he apparently juggled school busses at Griffin Middle.
Dan GREEN and Dan GREEN: Identical twin drug
dealers who shared the name and worked for Joe
LATTANZI. Introduced in episode 4 of War at Scandal High,
they were apprehended in part 6 of that story.
GREEN QUEEN (deceased):
One of the original FURIOUS
FOUR, introduced in episode 5 of The Sniffin Middle Affair,
she had mental control over a green globe that fired energy blasts and could
teleport. A few years later, she teamed with Mrs.
COCKROACH in a bid to kill the Legion in a parallel future, but
apparently died in the attempt (Trial of the GMS Legion part 7).
KHEER: The faithful
manservant of CHANA PURI, he was a heavy
bald man missing an eye, with a vivid scar and a hook hand. He shattered
every bone in his left arm trying to punch out the ENFORCER and is currently in police custody.
Vito and Tony LATTANZI:
Either the sons or the godsons of Joe LATTANZI, they handled the rough stuff
for him. Introduced in episode 1 of War at ScandalHigh, they
were both killed by THUNDER LAD in
part 7 of that story.
Gummo LATTANZI: Between
parts one and two of Walls of Jericho, SHAMROCK
defeated the "third son" of deceased crime lord Joe
LATTANZI.
The LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL:
A team of "heroes" from Bill's High who went to extremes
in a bid to topple the GMS Legion from their place as official school heroes
when the schools merged in the fall of 1986 (Walls of Jericho). Original
members were leader THUNDER LORD,
CHAMELEON COMMANDER, CHROMIUM QUEEN, MEDUSA
GIRL, NEMESIS BOY and STONE. They were augmented by BALL BOY, PRINCESS
PUMPERNICKEL and
FERRO BOY.
MACHIN-O: Originally
built by the Brain in the early 80s,
this artificial intelligence could access and control computer networks and
machinery and had processing power to take over three human minds at a time.
The computer attacked the Legion in Slaves of the Machine God and
the Legion went to great lengths to ensure that, trapped on a floppy disk,
nobody could ever plug it back in again.
MAGNARR, the Gravity Genius:
Seen in flashback in The Return of the Chrome Crusader
as an old foe defeated by ICARUS and MATTER LAD when the latter was still at Griffin.
Magnarr was non-powered and used gravity- and anti-gravity-bombs and magnets
to commit crimes. It was during this fight that ICARUS
vanished and was thought deceased.
MAYONNAISE MAN: A
drug dealer who eluded capture in the halls of Griffin Middle for many months
in untold stories in 1983-84. SPEEDY
had made it his personal crusade to bring him to justice, and, allied with
his former teammates CHEWABLE KID and
INFECTIOUS GIRL, did so in
episode 2 of War at Scandal High. However, a final trap left CHEWABLE KID's powers neutralized by radioactive
mayo.
MEDUSA GIRL: Introduced
in episode 1 of Walls of Jericho, her hair could stretch to great
lengths and entangle foes. She was expelled along with the rest of THE LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL in part 8
of that story and has not been seen since.
MUNDANE THE MIGHTY:
One of the strangest foes the team has fought, this
aliterative sorceror was first seen in episodes 4 and 5 of War at Scandal
High, but nobody can guess what his origins and true motives are, and
where he had been for the last three years. Mundane made a shocking reappearance
in parts 2-4 of Royal Flush, wherein it was revealed that
he had been working a number of unusually dull crimes throughout the county,
and to the Legion's surprise, he was known to the superheroes at McMoney,
Mayretta and Sprayed Berries. Mundane had great revelations about the heroes'
origins which are too detailed to go into here, and too full of spoilers
for readers who haven't read the Royal Flush epic yet!
NEMESIS BOY: One
of the Legion's arch-foes, he first appeared in episode 1 of Whatever
Happened to the Class of '86?, demonstrating his abilities to neutralize
any super power and to gain whatever energy is needed to defeat any one
foe. He soundly defeated the team in that story and walked out without trace,
but reappeared a few months later in Walls of Jericho as part of THE LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL. During the
ensuing series of fights, NOVA GIRL destroyed a small
box in his belt, revealing that his power neutralization was artificial,
although his power to defeat any one foe's super power is natural. He,
along with the other fallen heroes from Bill's High, was expelled from
school for their actions. It is revealed in The Criminal
Fraternity that he was expelled, but got a small efficiency apartment
with his girlfriend CHROMIUM QUEEN
and was working as a gravedigger. There, he uncovered the remains of PALIDUS and reformed the FURIOUS FOUR, along with the resurrected Palidus,
Chromium Queen and DRAINO. During the
course of this story, he exchanged blows with Virus and Speedy, and shot Shamrock
in the stomach, but again Nova Girl proved his downfall, and this time he
was sent to prison.
PALIDUS: A nine-foot
tall monster incapable of speech, but enormously strong and invunerable.
He, or it, was first seen in episode 5 of The Sniffin Middle Affair.
He reappeared in part 4 of War at Scandal High, but soon after injuring
two heroes, the ENFORCER used his soul-fire
to short-circuit Palidus's brain. It was later decided that, while Palidus'
heart was still beating, the beast was brain-dead, and was buried alive
in a potter's field. In The Criminal Fraternity, THUNDER LAD is tricked into sending an electrical
charge into a lightning rod placed above Palidus's grave; as a result, Palidus's
brain was reactivated and it joined the FURIOUS
FOUR on another battle against the heroes. After his defeat,
SUPERDUPERMAN burned out
a portion of Palidus's nervous system and the monster was consigned to
the earth once more.
PRINCESS PUMPERNICKEL:
She claimed to be part of the Royal Crimefighting Family
of Orlando, but after being rejected by the Legion in The Best Idea Since
Bread, she turned to crime. Her power was to make bread rise at an
incredible rate. She re-emerged as one of THE
LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL, but solely to be used as a patsy,
being "apprehended" by that group instead of the GMS Legion.
PROFESSOR GREENEAGLE:
Nothing about this character is known other than his
arrest by the Legion, which was mentioned in Slaves of the Machine God.
ROZZO: Nothing
about this character is known other than his or her arrest by the Legion,
which was mentioned in Slaves of the Machine God.
SATAN: The identity
of this villain, and whether she is truly the Biblical Satan, is still unknown.
MUNDANE THE MIGHTY claimed
that he had manipulated the heroes into organizing at a convention in late
May 1987 since he knew that Satan would appear in our universe at that
time and begin the destruction of humanity. In truth, an aggressive, bawdy,
powerful bald woman, with red skin, horns and a tail, wearing tight black
leather did arrive on the scene and it took the combined efforts of all
the heroes, notably SUPERCOLLIDER GIRL
to fight her off. They did so, however, after Satan had claimed the lives
of two heroes.
The SPACE NUT: Referred
to in The Return of the Chrome Crusader as an old foe defeated by
ICARUS.
STONE: A member
of the LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL,
he was first seen in part 1 of Walls of Jericho. He has mottled grey
skin resembling rocks and great strength, although not as strong as either
COLOSSAL KID or SHAMROCK. He was expelled along with the rest
of THE LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL
in part 8 of that story and has not been seen since.
The TAR BABY: A
week prior to Fear of Flying, the heroes fought this villain, who
managed to ruin the ENFORCER's costume.
The TERRILYNESS (deceased):
Chief of security at Sniffin Middle under the FOOD regime. Introduced in episode 1 of The
Sniffin Middle Affair, she died in part three when COLOSSAL KID flattened her by rolling BALL BOY over her at a high speed.
THUNDER LORD:
The estranged brother of THUNDER LAD,
who shares the same electricity-generating power. First seen in Walls
of Jericho episode 1, he planned to have his team, the Legion of Scandal High School, replace the
GMS Legion as Scandal's official school heroes. He was expelled from school
at the story's conclusion. As ringleader of the gang, he went to prison while
the others received slaps on the wrists.
TEACHERS and PRINCIPALS
Mr. BEAGLE: Social
studies teacher at Scandal, his classroom was used as meeting space by
THE LEGION OF SCANDAL HIGH SCHOOL
in Walls of Jericho. NOVA GIRL
has been one of his students.
Mr. BIASED (deceased):
Chemistry teacher at Scandal High. It was implied that
he was part of a family of space aliens who had kept MAMUWALDI imprisoned for centuries. Introduced
in episode 2 of War at Scandal High and killed by MAMUWALDI the following episode.
Miss BLEACHER (deceased):
Crafts teacher at Sniffin Middle with the power to bore
anyone to sleep with one sentence. Introduced in episode 4 of The Sniffin
Middle Affair and killed by the team's automatic defenses.
BOSS PAUL: Introduced
in part 2 of Fear of Flying, he is the former principal of Bill's
High School, which closed due to declining enrollment. Bill's was merged
with Scandal, and the Boss became co-principal with Miss SMELLIOT. Some of the heroes began to
fear, in The Pirate Radio Clash, that the Boss was planning a coup
of sorts. They are told in The Return of the Chrome Crusader that,
in a future unknown to them, Boss Paul would be responsible for the deaths
of millions. In Melody of Chaos, we see that Boss Paul and Dr. Hilary DeSADE are behind some scheme that
requires human brains, and that Boss Paul, who assassinates Sen. Newt Richgene
in this story, has, or claims to have, some control over every politician
from Corncob.
Mrs. COCKROACH (deceased):
An alien from the planet *@#! who, posing as "Miss Cuckooran,"
killed Mr. FOOD to take control of the
free drugs market at Sniffin Middle. Later teaming up with GREEN QUEEN, she apparently died in a parallel
universe (Trial of the GMS Legion part 8).
