I have loved basketball since the Larry Bird and Danny Ainge, sp.? Boston Celtics. Danny should have been named one of the best 100 players a few years ago. A major oversight in my opinion. I thought he was a remarkable player for his stature. At least on TV he didn't seem as tall as most of the other standouts. I also love Charles Barkley and it was a real treat when he was on the Suns and they almost beat the Bulls. I was REALLY hoping Charles would get his ring that year! But not meant to be I guess. Of course I was also a fan of the Chicago Bulls and the greatest to ever play the game, Michael Jordan. Those years were magical! I would have loved to stay true to the Bulls but all the key players quickly moved on when Jordan stopped playing. So now I am a Blazer fan because that's where Scotty is. It's hard to resist the Lakers because of Phil and Ron but I just can't bring myself to root for the Lakers. Matter of fact the only team I root against more are the Knicks! I still like the Phoenix Suns and also am a big Miami Heat fan. Due to the poor health of Mourning I don't think they'll be contenders this year though. So it looks like I have to get behind the Portland Trail Blazers to go ALL the way this year!
~Update~ Well as we all know the Blazers didn't cut it! Their star just couldn't seem to get it together! and Mournings late come back and Hardway's difficulties cut short Miami's season. Now there is this gutsy little team... closest to where I live...called the Sixer's....their little guy has taken a lot of "beatin's" all season but presently they are still hangin' in there! Even if they make it to the Finals they have to contend with those Lakers...what can you say about their chances?! But you have to give the Sixers A LOT OF CREDIT!!! What about next season? Michael and Sir Charles...that would be just tooooo GREAT!!!
~Update~ almost bball time-yippee! -still waiting to hear if Michael is in fact playing this year!-it would be inspirational and we all need inspiration at this time in any form it should come! YES!!!!!!
