Guilt Trip

The Date is
December 1, 1985

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Weekend.  We are back tonight with a comedy by Burt Reynolds and friends...

Summary

'Guilt' has been fouling up on the job as of late. So, his boss sends him on a cruise for rest and relaxation. While on this trip he meets 'Love' and they fall in.. well, love. Secretly, they each doubt the relationship will stand when the other finds out who they really are. Eventually, they confide in each other of their true identities. They break off their relationship. In closing, they reunite, after all what is love without guilt?

Commentary

Burt Reynolds directs his cronies in this small tale that feels and sometimes looks like a deranged 'Love Boat' segment. Although there are humourous moments, the real strong point here is the synergy amongst the cast and crew. You can feel the fun they must have had during production. Reynolds beautiful former wife, Loni Anderson handles her comedy well but it is Dom Deluise' natural comedic timing and a short appearance by Charles Nelson Reilly that keep you smiling. Durning also appears in a small thankless role.

How Amazing?
Good Fun
