The Sims Tricks #1: Move into any empty house
Can't move into that big house cos it's so damn expensive? Don't worry folks, you don't have to use the Ol' 'move-in-single-sims-and-kill-them-off-for-their-dough' trick.
Just follow the steps below:
- Move your desired sims into the lot that would hold your desired house.
(You can bulldoze the house on that lot first so you only pay the minimum lot fee.)
- Save and return to Neighbourhood Menu.
- Now choose any other family to play.
- When you are at that family's lot, press ALT-TAB keys to return to DeskTop.
- You must have the house file you want to live in (eg. house01.iff) in order for this to work.
- Copy and paste the .iff house file into The Sims Houses directory
(eg. ...\The Sims\UserData\Houses).
This should overwrite the empty lot your desired family are currently in.
- Now return to The Sims and return back to the Neighbourhood Menu.
You would notice that the empty lot that you have chosen had been housed.
- Finally, click that lot for the final procedure. Your sims would seems to have 'disappeared' but they would 'reappear' when you click on their faces at the Mood Menu.
