January 2009

Really fun show at Paradise to start the new year off right. Lot's of friends, old and new. Nils raises the sartorial high bar.

November 2008

News Flash! Dave Mason stepped on a crate and his foot went all the way through. He looked really funny trying to get it off. This occured at Hamaknockers Oasis in Panacea. The Moguls have been playing there once a month. Samantha makes excellent Jager Bombs which apparently you can drink all night and not get drunk. That's all for now.

May 2008

The Moguls are having a blast as the summer of 2008 approaches. They just played a really fun show at Eddie Teach's Raw Bar on St. Georges Island. As usual things got crazy. This was the third time the band has played at Eddie Teach's and it has become the favorite venue, mainly due to the owners, Miss Vickie and James. Other great gigs this year have been the Big Show and Dance benefit for Lee's Place at the Paradise Grill and Bar and AJ's Sports Bar. Dave Mason is really playing some smoking hot guitar and Shane Weaver turns every show into an all out dance party. Stay tuned, more crazyness is on the way!

October 2007

The Moguls suffered a serious loss in the 2007 Tallahassee summer when good friend Danny Foster decided he couldn't stand the heat and got out of the kitchen. Foster said, "This is the best band I've ever been in, I quit." With vague plans to live in a neighborhood called "The Castro" and wearing flowers in his hair, Danny moved to San Francisco. The tragic end of The Moguls appeared near, but suddenly guitar slinger Dave Mason agreed to step up and come out of retirement. Without missing a beat, Dave was quickly back to his old form, learning new songs and shredding guitar leads. There have been great shows including one that got really really crazy at the Paradise Grill and Bar. Suffice to say the table dancing made quite an impression, all within about 100 yards of the Tallahassee police department. The next gig, a party for Chelsea Hair Salon, also got crazy and was ended by the Sheriff's office. With more shows coming soon, 2007 may be the Mogul's best year yet!

The Moguls. It's bigger, it's better and it's coming soon to a hacienda near you.

April 2007

2007 continues to be a mogulishious year! The Moguls played fun shows at the Warehouse, the American Legion, the Harley Davidson Shop (they don't make bikers like they used to) and Pockets Pool Hall. The latest drummer, John, quit to undergo treatment for narcolepsy following the very fun show at Pockets. News Flash!!! Nils Mann named the new Moguls drummer for the upcoming American Legion Hall show. Yay!!!!!!

January 2007

2006 turned out to be a mogulishious year! The Moguls played shows at the Warehouse and the Leon County Fair (dream fulfilled). 2007 got off to a great start with a jam packed rockin good time at the American Legion Hall on Lake Ella. Mogul army member Brian Crum sat in on drums and reminded everyone that it's all about the beat the beat the beat! Unfortunately the old drummer, Jeff, will no longer be with the band. He failed to live up to the rigorous and strict standards of The Moguls and has been banished to Alabama.

August 2006

The Moguls new lineup is complete!!!!!! Shane Weaver takes over as the new voice of the Moguls. He's a lean mean rockin machine. Ben's old friend Danny Foster from No Say No is the new lead guitar player. And Jeff Hales is the new thumper and a fine one at that! Currently the band is getting tight and sweatin through the July nights in Tallahassee.

June 2006

Sad news indeed. Everybody has left the band except Keith. Don Crenshaw fought the law and the law won. Nuff said. The rock of the Moguls, Dave Mason, left to become a real music mogul (Mason's School of Music-check it out). And Lisa, Lisa, Lisa. She and husband Brent moved to the Louisiana boonies, where Brent is perfecting his Cajun boiled peanut recipe and Lisa is scouting for Karaoke bars. We'll miss them all, but you know what they say .... Once a Mogul always a Mogul!!!!!

September 2005

Ben's old friend Don Crenshaw joins the band to pound skins and Keith Brown takes over on bass guitar. Keith's a great bass player who once did sound for CBGB's and all sorts of bands including The Laughing Dogs. The Moguls are back in the rocking saddle and are planning a show at Railroad Square on Saturday, October 15. SEE YOU THERE!

March 2005

Brian will be leaving the band after March 15th, 2005. He is leaving to pursue his lifelong interest in becoming an alcoholic. Tony is also leaving to form a Neil Young cover band. The search is on....

February 2003

The Moguls have been regrouped and have been working on lots of new material. Tony Buzone has taken over duties as the new Thundering Bassman and Lisa Pippin has taken over main vocal duties! Tony has played with groups such as The AfroSheens and Pat Puckett while Lisa is a newcomer to the music business with the voice of a bar room angel! With their additions to the lineup Dave Mason's creativity has bloomed. Collectively The Moguls have penned almost a dozen new songs!

July 2002

Marlow and Chazz have left the band. Marlow decided it was time to move on after his wife had a baby... and we moved the beer refrigerator next to his amp... Now we have to get our own beer... Chazz left to further his art career... His art is currently on display at the Pelican Fun Place...

September 2001

The search is over!
