ROBBIE SMITH | ||||||||||||

Robbie Smith was the coolest co-worker I have ever had the pleasure of working with (is that redundant?) Sort of a taller version of myself. A dork and proud of it. The second Texan I met while I was on the program, and the second with out an accent, Robbie was pure Disney. To entertain the guest was our objective no matter what we had to do to do it. No two days were the same. We would broom fight to the "death" over who got to sweep up a a piece of trash. When one of us would be taking a photo of guest, the other would arange the guest so they looked like they were having fun, even if that meant getting in the picture ourselves. Infact there are so many photos of us and "guest bob" in front of Spaceship Earth, I'm sure we are posted on the net somewhere. We would write songs about our job at Disney and sing them to our guest as they passed. On hot days we would hunt each other out w/ a squeeze breaze and if the guest were missed they usually enjoyed the cool down. We could Juggle Brooms and balance them on various appendges to get a smile out of a guest. But it was not all fun and games with Robbie, we had our serious moments as well. We often would have rousing debates on serious topics such as who is the better duo Woody and Buzz (Yea!) or Timon and Pumba (Neh!) We would debate and debate these types of topics and never could get a direct conclusion, therefore, we would go to a young guest and get their opinion, and the looser would have to pay up to the winner and the guest in however many stickers were bet on the debate. Well I guess that was fun too. I miss the good times of Future World Center. Robbie is now the College Rep. for his school in Texas. I hope all goes well for ya Robbie. |
