DOS Games

Contents of DOS GAMES

April 2005 - These games have been salvaged from a 1987 COMPAQ 286, a 1989 IBM PS/2 386 and a 1993 Toshiba laptop 486. Some of these games originated from the Hall of the Sausage King, an early website which no longer hosts these files. Some of these games may not run under Windows. Others may require MOSLO as they work on processor timings. Many of these games have no quit command as they are from the days of floppy disk booting. Under windows to force a game to end click the X in the corner of the window, or if the game is not running in a window press Alt+Enter then the X. Also try Ctrl+Pause/Break. Contact god_save_the_queen77@yahoo.com. Illuminate software is not the original author of these programs.

Description:
COMMAND.COM - a very old DOS prompt (3.2 I think) - not a game.
DIGGER.COM - I can't get this to work, hope you have better luck.
DRAGNFLY.EXE - Dragonfly helicopter game.
DRAIN.COM - Not a game, a joke - only works on very slow PCs ~20mHz.
DRV.EXE - Do not run this program, it is a driver for XONIX.
FACE.COM - Funny but annoying.
FALL.COM - Makes all the letters fall to the bottom of the screen after a random timeout.
FILE_ID.DIZ - From XONIX.
FLYGAME.EXE - An advert-game for 386 motherboards.
HELP.BAT - ...old
INVADERS.COM - Space Invaders.
INVADERS.ASM - Source code for INVADERS.COM.
INVADERS.ICO - Nice icon.
MAIN.EXE - part of XONIX - run XONIX.BAT.
MAZE.C - Source code to maze.
MAZE.EXE - Maze game - kills time.
MENU.DOC - ...old
MM.EXE - MasterMind pure genius.
mouse.bas - a mouse driver for QB.
MSD.EXE - Microsoft Diagnostics.
PACPC.EXE - A Nicely done reincarnation of Pacman.
PAKMAN.COM - Lightning no frills Pakman.
PLASWAVE.EXE - Very nice visual tricks.
SOPWITH.EXE - The original monochrome Sopwith (4 fake colours).
SPACEIN.EXE - Space Invaders (an older incarnation).
SPACEWAR.EXE - Space War.
XONIX.BAT - Use this to start XONIX.
XONIXR.TXT - Readme for XONIX.

Apologies for the omission of the Escher from the back of the XONIX game. My 386's hard drive is dodgy and I can no longer access the image.
