ugl and gls
The Universal Graphics Library (UGL) is a system by which new graphics sets can be loaded for games. If the games allow then then files can be easily swapped into the folder specified by the GLS configuration file. The idea
of this, though immensely simple is to save you time and provide a quick way, without having to remember where the files are stored, where your backup is etc.
Configuration File
- must be named config.asc and saved in the same folder as the GLS .exe
- format is in ASCII mode and is as follows....
"c:\webroot\sc\dnd\dnd101~1","c:\webroot\sc\dnd\dnd101~1\dxpse6~1.lnk","\dndgra~1\","\mygrap~1\","\mygrap~2",
"\backup\"
"game path","path to executable or shortcut","\graphics\","\new graph 1\","\more graph\","backup folder"
Note the speech mark and the double \'s in some places ! ! !
- When installing graphics the GLS copies from \mygraph~1\ or \mygraph~2\ to \dndgra~1\
Download
gls.zip Includes:-
- ability to view BMP files in the graphics folder.
- ability to quickly copy from one of the MODded games graphics folders to the actual folder.
- ability to restore an earlier made backup.
- and of course start the game (games requiring working directories need to be started via a Windows .pif or .ink file or via a DOS .bat file.
