Once Vorak had run from the hold no one said anything, suddenly Beia's bottom lip trembled before she broke into quite tears. "Don't worry, I will find him" said Lyar as she started to walk out. "It's all right, you don't need to go find him. He has done this all ready and he came back but each time he became more...different" said Onor. "Fine, but the snow is not as thick as before and I think it's time for me to go,” replied Lyar as she called Dane to her side before she left the hold. But before she left she told them that they could keep her cart and that she wasn't going to need it anymore. The snow was begging to melt but it still was thick and strong, Dane had his nose to the ground sniffing for Vorak or the one eyed wher. They searched for the two till nightfall; Lyar and Dane dug into the shallow snow and created a hole that they could lie in till they were used to the night cold. Kese chirped in protest of being out in the cold so she slithered under the too and stopped and lied down on Lyar's arm. The flit's hide was cold but Lyar knew that the flit would warm up soon; digging into the snow was a good idea for the wind began to pick up and snow started to fall. "Come on Dane, we can't stay here. We have to go or we'll freeze to death" said Lyar as she stood up and wrapped her cloak tightly around her before Kese slithered in and gave a small hum for the cloak was thick and begging to warm them up. They were walking when Dane stopped and went into his fighting stance; he made no effort to keep the noise quiet. Lyar readied a thorn of random choice to be thrown at the attacker, suddenly Vorak stepped into view. His hair had ice hanging from the ends, his skin had a bluish color to it and he was shivering uncontrollably. "Please...so cold" said Vorak for that was all he could manage to get out. "I will help you, just tell me when you meant by plans" replied Lyar as she slipped another thorn into her hand. "If I wasn't freezing I wouldn't tell you but this is different, what my plan is to make my parents feel sorry for me and then I would go to the Weyr and stand for the hatching" said Vorak. "Why didn't you just tell them that you were going to stand?" asked Lyar. "Because I all ready impressed,” shouted Vorak. "To the one eyed wher,” replied Lyar. "How could you know?" asked Vorak. "I was simple, I could easily tell that you and the wher impressed because of how it stands protectively behind you" answered Lyar as she pointed at the wher. "I told you to wait till I called you,” said Vorak to the wher. Suddenly an evil grin came to his face, he turned to Lyar and said something to the wher. The wher growled and leapt at Vorak, "No" he screamed as his wher snapped his neck. With bloodlust in the wher's eyes it turned toward Lyar, she flipped open her cloak and grabbed a hand full of thorns and braced herself. She had only seen this happen once; those that tell their impressed wher to kill mistakenly forget how deadglow some whers can be. So when they say kill the whers kill them before they go mad and start to attack and kill all things in its sight. The wher bugled before it lunged at Lyar; Dane intercepted the wher and sent it crashing to the ground. They began to fight like mad whers did, since Dane was the same size of the wher it was hard for it to win easily. In one quick motion the wher grabbed Dane by the neck and hurled him at the trees, it bugled and charged Lyar. She threw the thorns in her hand at the wher, all hit but the wher seemed unaffected. It bugled louder and charged faster, as the wher neared it leapt into the air and crashed into Lyar. Blood now covered the snow around them; Lyar grunted and shoved the dead wher's body off of her. At the last possible second Lyar pulled out her sword and held the point out at the wher, she pulled out her sword of the wher and cleaned the blood of off it in the snow. Kese began to chirp rapidly as she hovered over Dane, Lyar scrambled over to where Dane lay. The canine whined softly, tears were now running down Lyar's face for a branch from the tree now resided in Dane. The branch went in one side and out the other; she knew that if there was a healer here right now he could never save Dane. She sobbed as she pulled three thorns from her cloak, in one quick motion she jabbed all three in to the canine's side. He gave a soft moan of pleasure before his eyes glazed over. Kese chirped softly as she nuzzled Lyar's cheek, Lyar stood up and looked around. Three were dead and all because of a one eyed wher, at this time she was glad that she was color blind because she didn't think she could handle seeing the blood in color for there was so much of it. Kese then began to chirp a song of mourn for the newly deceased, Lyar knew that she would have to tell Beia and Onor what happened to their son for she was the only one that knew. She then considered the option of just leaving the area and acting like it never happened but the notion left her mind quickly. She then decided to tell Beia and Onor what happened but first she knew that she had to burry the bodies or else dragons might come, Lyar couldn't think of what to say if a dragonrider dropped by. They could easily make it seem like she was the one that did the killing, but no rider would be that cruel. She sighed and grabbed a large flat stick and began to dig into the ground. |
