Formby Hall Golf Weekend Rules

Rules

1   Standard rules and etiquette of golf apply at all times.

2  Local Rules at Formby Hall Woods should be applied where applicable (see back of golf card for details).

3  No preferred lies, no pick and place (unless local rules apply or there is adverse weather conditions). Organisers to advise at the start of every round.

Breach of Rule - Loss of hole Matchplay, 2 shot penalty strokeplay.

4  Gimmes are permissible. Max gimme length is the length of a standard putter grip.

5  For Longest Drive competition the ball must be on the fairway of the hole in play.

6  Nearest the Pin (NTP), Ball must be on the putting surface to be valid. (If we have sufficient prizes for a daily NTP players will only be eligible for a single prize, i.e. there will be 3 different prize winners.

7  All cards must be swapped for marking. All scores must be signed for and concurred by your opponent before handing into the organisers at the end of the round. Any discrepancies or unsigned cards will result in the deduction of 2 points for both players. 

8. R&A rules will used in the event of any dispute or where a rule needs to be clarified - in the interest of keeping the weekend competition alive any infringement that the R&A deems as a 'Disqualification' a 5 point deduction will be made instead.

9. As in most competitions the organisers decision is final.
