This page is for those who wish to gain access to news from various media sources so you can have a greater understanding and possibly a balanced view of many of the issues that are currently going on and the issues that continue in this country and worldwide. The links are provided to give informational resources that you may not find in your local newspaper or in the "corporate-controlled" (and government-controlled) media that exists today in the United States.
One day while listening to NPR (National Public Radio), one of the commentators said "that people need to listen to, read, and/or view news from more than 1 source so that they can get a comprehensive view of the news." He mentioned that limiting yourself to one news source can limit your understanding of the world through the bias of the mainstream media. So, if you want to know what really goes on or has gone on, it is best to get as many perspectives as possible and then to make up your mind. Do NOT have someone else tell you WHAT to THINK or HOW to THINK!
"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have."
- Richarrd Salent, Former President CBS News
FAIR (Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting The National Media Watch Group) explains, "Almost all media that reach a large audience in the United States are owned by for-profit corporations--institutions that by law are obligated to put the profits of their investors ahead of all other considerations. The goal of maximizing profits is often in conflict with the practice of responsible journalism."
"News is what someone wants to suppress. Everything else is advertising".
- Rubin FFrank, Former NBC News President
