During the course oft he show, Martin Crane found "serious" love with two women - Sherry Dempsey, and a few years later Ronee Lawrence. 2 women are so alike yet also so different. Ronee eventually became his wife at the end of the series, and I wondered - what if Sherry showed up again?

• Loretta Tortelli, mentioned in Part 1, is of course the wife of Carla's (from Cheers) ex-husband Nick. In 1987 the first Cheers spin off, The Tortellis, debuted where Nick and Loretta moved to Las Vegas. It only lasted a season, but I managed to get this into the story.
• Ned Foley is of course one of Sherry's ex-husbands by 1997 when she meets Martin. Sherry's surname in 1987, Wallis, is due to another ex-husband.
• Roz says that Frasier moved to "wherever he is" - a little joke as we don't actually know what happened to him after the finale - did he stay in Chicago or take his job in San Francisco?
• There are naturally a few references to episodes of Frasier during this story - where and what I will leave for you to find out for yourself! :-) But the key one is Ep 240 "I'm Listening" - Ronee's actions there play a role in this story.
