History Dr Lilith Sternin was born in Boston in a Jewish family. Her mother is Betty Sternin and she has a half-brother, Blaine. Lilith probably didn't have a "normal" childhood - she had few, if any, friends, and there was probably not a lot of love in her house. After leaving school Lilith became a psychiatrist in the Boston area. She threw herself into her work and had no time for dating until she met Dr Frasier Crane in 1986. They went on one date and then she didn't see him again until later that year when they appeared on a local TV show together. Thanks to Diane Chambers, Lilith was turned into an attractive woman and Frasier fell in love with her. They moved in together in 1987 and Frasier proposed later that year. Frasier and Lilith got married in 1988. Lilith started hanging out at Cheers as well, eventually becoming one of the regulars, and for the first time in her life she found she had some friends. She gave birth to her son, Frederick, in 1989. Things went well for a while, but Frasier spent too much time at Cheers and Lilith began to feel neglected. She started an affair with Dr Louis Pascal, and in 1992 announced she was leaving Frasier and Frederick to spend a year in an eco-pod with Pascal. This move she would regret, as Pascal was insane and a few months later in 1993 she escaped and returned to Boston. Frasier and Lilith had another go at their marriage but things didn't work out and they got divorced in 1993. Lilith was now a single mom after Frasier moved back to Seattle, but she started dating again and in 1995 she met and married Dr Brian Patchett. This marriage didn't last either as in 1998 he left her for another man. Lilith was devastated by this and drunkenly slept with Niles, but this meant Frasier stopped longing for her and they are now good friends who care about each other and their son even though they don't love each other any more. Lilith embarrassed Frederick at his bar mitzvah in 2002 and a year later wanted another baby, but eventually realised that she just wanted something else to take care of as her son was growing up. She met a man, Albert, on the plane home to Boston and they dated for 6 months, but she is now content with it just being her and Frederick. Personality Lilith often has a cold attitude, not seeming to care about things at times. She also likes things to be correct - her first talk with Frasier since he left her and returned to Seattle was when she corrected a piece of advice he'd given out. She can also say things that hurt the feelings of other people (sometimes without realising it). Niles was not happy with Lilith because she sniggered at Maris' wedding vows (which Maris herself wrote) during their wedding. Martin describes her as "weird". Eddie runs away from her every time she speaks to him. And Daphne seems to get a "psychic headache" every time Lilith is in Seattle. It is Frasier who treats her nicely, and in many ways he is her best friend. Lilith does have a rarely seen softer side though, as in where she confesses to Frasier that she's scared about raising a child on her own. Frasier and Lilith may no longer be in love but both of them still care for the other. Lilith Sternin is played by Bebe Neuwirth. Her first Frasier appearance was in Ep 16 "The Show Where Lilith Comes Back", though she had been mentioned lots of times before. Got any more information on Lilith Sternin?
