If you thought Honda was only capable of producing economy and family cars such as the Accord and Civic you are dead wrong. At Honda's roots you will find a rich and colorful race history that continues to this day. From Honda's race heritage, they were capable of taking ideas from the track and implementing them into their production |

cars. Cars that were products of this include the NSX, Integra Type R, Prelude and most recently the S2000. Honda was the first to Pioneer variable timing and lift electronic control system (VTEC) beginning with the NSX in 1991. Today, it can be found in almost all Honda cars including the Prelude.
The Prelude has always been Honda's platform for displaying their technological advances. From four wheel steering in to Third Generation to ATTS (Active Torque Transfer System) in the Fifth Generation. The current Fifth Generation is said to be the most passionate generation because of its distinct styling and feared to be the last generation. But all good things must come to an end. All signs are pointing to the end of the Prelude after the 2001 model year. A moment of silence please for a legendary flagship name that will be missed by all... |

On June 6, 1999, I accepted delivery of my 1999 Honda Prelude Type SH in nighthawk black pearl. According to the saleswoman it was |
|
the last Type SH in black still available in Michigan. At this time, no modifications were planned and I really didn't intend to do any either. |
|
October 1999 - After 4 months of driving my stock Lude and listening to Nam's sounds of his Mugen setup, I decided to modify my car. With just three basic and simple modifications: a Mugen exhaust, a Mugen header, and an Iceman intake. Also in the plans, is a set of JDM foglights that is, as soon as they are released from Customs. |

Currently, The planned modifications for my Prelude have been abandoned. The reason being is that there just might be another project on its way in the near future and because of the lack of time in my life now. I will keep you updated on what happens and if it happens. My stock Type SH is already a pretty peppy car so I don't feel the need to do anything to it really. But who knows, maybe I will change my mind when my stock exhaust rusts out. But for now Stock is GOOD!!! However, I have done a little work to my Prelude. I have installed a Field VTEC controller and many thanks to my brother Jeff for that. A Spoon strut bar has been installed too... But I really think thats gonna be it for my Prelude.
I wouldn't want to become a rice boy now would I??? |

So, most people think about reliable, economical, and environmentally sound cars when they hear the name Honda. Sure, you can say this but please don't over look their ability to build a high performance engine.
The name Honda can be found in numerous places. For instances yard equipment, CBR |

motorcycles, Formula one cars, Honda automobiles |

and their luxury Acura division. Okay, so they build alot of stuff... So what high performanace engines do they have anyway??? Well Honda's engineering abilities are all displayed in 4 cylinder form. |
