Segundo Orbeta was married to Eulalia Sanchez of Pateros, Rizal,  by whom he had eight children.  Their first home was in San Pedro de Makati, formerly a municipality of the province of Rizal, and now the Makati City of Metro Manila.  About the year 1917,  to be near the area of his mail delivery service, he moved his family to Malate, Manila.  Their new home at #1210 San Andres Street was near the corner of San Andres and San Marcelino Streets where he took the early "tranvia" trip to Plaza Lawton, to pick up his bags of mails from the Bureau of Post.

Segundo died of liver cancer, on 16 October 1922,  at the prime stage of his manhood.  He left behind 7 young children and a six-month pregnant spouse.

Eulalia outlived Segundo by 45 years,  5 years more than his whole lifespan of 40 years;  and a second husband who was younger than her. She died of old age, on 22 September 1967, at age 84.   Her remains were interred near the grave of Segundo in the Makati Municipal Cemetery.

It would be interesting to note the coincidental significance of her death on an Autumnal Equinox (September 22) and that of Segundo's birth on a Vernal Equinox (March 22) -  the two dates every year when the sun is directly above the earth's equator and the days and nights are of nearly equal length every where on earth.
