After that memorable stint in the high-seas and foreign countries, I joined RCA as Asst. Shift Engineer in the RCA Radio Transmitting Station. My career in RCA ended on that fateful day, during World War II, when a US Army demolition crew dynamited the RCA Radio Transmitting Station, before the invading Japanese military forces closed in on the defenseless "Open City" of Manila. I rejoined
RCA after the war. Then I transferred to Pan American Airways,
for the better job position and pay. I retired after continuously and loyally serving Philippine Airlines for 34 years (1948-1982,) in the Avionics, Communications Maintenance, and Management departments.
My former "Amateur Radio Station " call signs in Manila were:
KA1ABV, KA1AW, and DU1AW;
and in Cebu, it was DU7GO.
We have 4 sons, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grand-daughters. |
