2006 SEASON

Gordon Productions was proud to present the hit musical comedy revue I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. The show played to sold-out houses in March/April and was brought back for the Labor Day Weekend. The show starred Mary Jo Curry, Gus Gordon, Jeff Prince and Becky Watts, with Karen Ferguson on Piano and Ann Collins on Violin.

I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE is an adult comedy about love, dating, sex, marriage, in-laws and kids that’s been described as "Seinfeld set to pop music."

Act I explores the journey from blind dating to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of honeymoons and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, "Say, what are you doing Saturday night?"

The show was presented in an intimate cabaret-style setting with a cash bar.

Gordon Productions presented DRACULA - A RADIO PLAY by Philip Grecian, a radio-readers theatre version of the classic vampire tale, on October 27-29 of 2006. The show was presented as if it were a 1940's radio show, with actors on-stage in 1940's era costumes, reading from scripts while a sound effects crew provided all of the appropriate scary noises. The cast included Troy Kemp (Count Dracula), Aasne Vigesaa (Mina Harker), Don Schneider (Dr. Abraham Van Helsing), Dennis Rendleman (Dr. Jack Seward), Gus Gordon (Jonathan Harker), Jason Goodreau (R.M. Renfield), Mary Young (Lucy Westenra), Mary Beth Maloney (Birdie), Steve Kaplan (Williams) and Pat Foster (Announcer). Karl Bockemeier, Brett Rutherford, Steve Williams and cast created and executed the sound effects, and Donn Stephens and Kayla Primm provided the musical accompaniment. Donn composed an original score for the production. The show was produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

DRACULA - A RADIO PLAY was presented on October 27 and 28 at 8:00pm and on Sunday, October 29 at 2:00pm. Local NPR radio station, WUIS, 91.9 FM, was our "media sponsor" and recorded the show for broadcast on Halloween night at 7pm! The show was performed at Sacred Heart-Griffin Auditorium.
