INTRO
1. This Week's Headline
Gas Blamed for Killing 116 Hostages
Chechen rebels held several hundred hostages in a Moscow theatre last
week. They said they would release the hostages if the war in Chechnya
was stopped. However, the government did not talk and instead gassed the
building. They killed 116 hostages in the process. Russian officials refused
to identify the gas, so doctors could not help people.
2. Today's Ha Ha
One snake says to the other: 'Do you know whether we are really poisonous
or not?'.
'Why?'
'I just bit my tongue...'
3. Proverb Parade
Bits of wisdom in short sayings. Easy to remember and easy to use:
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. (Proverbs 24:26)
4. Canadian Music Corner
"Margo's Cargo" by Stompin' Tom Connors
This is a very silly song. It's about a wife and husband who find a clock
made of cow dung, so they decide to go to Toronto, where the clock was
made, to sell their cow dung to the company. The song is about their trip
from Newfoundland to Toronto, and what happens when they get there.
