Bio
Carcass is formed in the late 80s
in Liverpool, England. As they released their first album, they showed
that they have more to produce.Because the 'Reek Of Putrefication' is
consisting of many good riffs and lyrics that can only be understood
if you have a real huge medical dictionary. The Symphonies of Sickness
came after it.Carcass was doing it better now.It is growing more complicated and
more creative. The third album 'Necroticism:Descanting The Insalubrious
was maybe the best they produced as grind.A better production and
high quality riffs fashioned with Walker and Steer's growls.
After this high point they reached they were realized by Colombia Records.
they signed. They released Heartwork that their fans wouldn't be pleased
with. But in my opinion Carcass saved its aggressive mood.
Lyrics' theme was changed. It is all about life, weakness and other
situations that human beings always deny or didn't want to see.In this
album creativity reached its top.It is not grind anymore.Their creativity
drained to death metal and I think that this album can be shown as
one of the best in this genre.
Some of the fans thinks that Carcass started his fall with Heartwork,
but in my opinion the last release Swansong is considered to be the
album which cannot belong them.If you listen without thinking that it is
Carcass, it is a good album but when you look at the past efforts
of the band you can easily see that this last one doesn't have the
Carcass' characteristics.
This release is showing that it is the end for them even with its name
refers to the last scream of a swan.Walker and Steer thought it would be better
to be break up...also Steer is thinking of something different.
The compilations released after that, 'Wake up...' and the limited
edition japanese company release 'Best Of Carcass'.Wake Up is consisting
of unreleased and old tracks.Best of is full of best and live performences
of the band.
That's all, short history of a (for me) the best grind/death band ever
been formed.I am still listening their songs.Especially their lyrics,
I think they are impressive.
A band that cannot be easily forgotten by grind/death metal fans...
