Spectacularly non-PC noise/grind/death outfit from Sydney whose live show encompassed bad disco-dancing, indoor BBQs and dangerous experiments with exploding mannequins. Formed from Vomit by Kane and Frog where Kane was originally the drummer, the band went through some personnel reshuffles before settling into the line-up above after the release of the first EP. With sick and depraved lyrics, a genuine drunken yobbo attitude and an entertaining live show, Volatile was confronting and extreme. The band's album Get off the Road ya Farkin' Poofta Bastard!!!! was delayed due to problems getting the album pressed as several CD plants refused it on the basis of the artwork, and eventually Volatile was forced to fund its release themselves after the sudden disappearance of their label. The band later issued the "Barbecues and Gore" cassette of songs left off the album and another full-length release in late 2001. Volatile appeared at Metal for the Brain in 2000 as a last minute replacement for The Wolves and played there again in 2001. Shane later joined Bludgeoner and Volatile played its last show in February 2003.
