Obedience training & instruction have been an integral part of Gorsebrook's dog care programs for 20 years. Our emphasis is on helping others to have well-mannered dogs, allowing the dog to be a full family member and neither neglected nor "gotten rid of" because of poor behaviour. Many inexperienced owners, no matter what breed or mixed breed, have trouble managing their pets in the first year, with housebreaking, nipping, jumping up, chewing on the top of their lists....the normal puppy problems. To help these owners, we have designed programs beginning with Puppy Kindergarten Training, then Basic Obedience For The Family Dog - the tools all owners should have - and on to Novice Trial Preparation for those wishing to compete in the Obedience ring. As well, we are certified to give the CKC Canine Good Neighbour test and teach Canine Good Citizen Test Preparation and give the CGC Test on behalf of Therapy Dogs International - see the Therapy Dogs page for more information on this.
