KAJIRA ...
based on the writings of terril{KLN}
to know
you are subject to whims, moods, rules that change.
to know
that although you may be given an explanation or a reason... you
deserve none.
to know
that although you may not know why you are being punished, you
understand it is right by the simple fact He/She chooses to do
it.
to understand
you have not even the right to speak or move unless One grants
it, and that One may choose not to simply because it is what pleases
Him/Her.
to know
that even when you have been told one thing is law... you may
be punished for doing it because Another prefers a different way.
to know
that though you may be asked for your opinion, you understand
it may or may not be taken into account, whether this pertains
to your sale, your task assignment, your name or even your life.
to know
that each time... no matter how deeply you feel you had done no
wrong... you will be grateful for the lesson and accept its consequences.
to NEVER
utter the words "but a girl was told..." to try to justify
or explain your actions.. Because you understand that the FREE
are never wrong unless They say so Themselves.
to know
that when Two give you commands that are opposite on ways to do
things, you will bite your tongue and let Them discuss and argue
until They have decided between Themselves what is the way it
will be.
to know
that if They do not agree, you will remember each's preference
and eagerly comply.
to be
grateful for any praise received but expect none.
to never
think your whining and complaints are of any importance to anyone
and to refrain from distributing them around.
to know
that the words "I am pleased" have become the light
in your life and the reason for your every breath.
Above all,
it means that all of those things will be more than words recited...
than lines learned... that have become, by the kiss of the whip,
by the undeniable need of your body and soul, by the fear of death,
by the knowledge that your very life is at the mercy of men, always
and in all things, your reality. More than imposed reality, these
truths, deep in the core of the slave girl, are brought to surface
from the depth of her nature. from the biological make up of the
female she is. And if at first she fights and struggles and denies,
there remain the moments when her worse fear is simply, that she
will be given victory and that the Mastering she so deeply craves
and needs will give way to a weakness so typical of Earth's destruction
of masculinity and the natural order of things.
"But
what if he is weak?" she begged.
"Continue to serve him, in the fullness of your slavery,
begging him for the least of his kisses, the most casual of
his caresses...Even such small attentions, you will discover,
now that you have become sensitized to your slavery, will
be precious to you."
"But what if he is stupid?" she asked.
"Beg him to sell you, or give you away," I said,
"that you may, if only in being sold off on the block,
come into the collar of another, one capable of satisfying
what you are, a slave."
"But what if he will not sell me, or give me away?"
she said.
"Then," said I angrily,"that is how it will
be, for it is you who wear the collar. He is the master. You
are the slave."
---Magicians of Gor, pp 233-234 |
Attitude
...
A slave's purpose is to serve men, to please them in all ways,
to obey there merest command, swiftly and completely. The sooner
a girl understands these things, the sooner she will find her
place in the order of things, and learn the joy in them. Unfortunately,
or perhaps naturally, many keep the illusion that in beauty and
in the desires of men, lays a power that will allow them manipulation
of their Masters. She will know quickly, that the strong man will
only see in those attributes, reason to treat her more harshly.
There is, on Gor, no "chosen" submission, no "gift"
of submission, there is only its reality.
`The
life of a female slave,' he said, `is a life wholly given
over to love. It is not a compromised life. It is not one
of those lives which is part this, and part that. It is a
total way of life, a total life... There are no bargains made
with her, no arrangements.'
---Mercenaries of Gor, p 435 |
The Gorean
slave will, whether she chooses to or not, be made to yield to
Master's will. The fact that this brings her joy never means she
does it by choice. The only 'choice' a kajira has is to accept
her fate or to complicate it by fighting it. She must never forget
that her status is nil, that her rights are nil, and that she
is in effect, by law and by nature, an article of property.
"I
supposed I was a wicked, worthless woman and, far worse, only
a despicable natural slave, but something deep in me, fundamental
in me, proud and ancient in me, loved men, and I did not want
to make them small, and nothing, but wanted, rather, to please
them, to obey them, to serve them, to give my all to them,
to make them strong and proud, grand and glorious, to make
them happy. But here, among the virile men of Gor, I had little
choice in such matters. such things, regardless of whether
or not I might wish to bestow them of my own free will, would
be simply commanded of me."
---Dancer of Gor, p 75 |
Intelligence
...
If you are of those who thinks that to be slave requires only
the ability to do what one is told, you need look again or move
along. The Gorean expects complete obedience from his slave, that
is true, he does however, not wish for her to be an empty shell,
or a duplicate of another slave. If a girl is expected to obey
without question at the moment of a command, it is not to say
that she doesn't think or have questions. Obedience and intelligence
are not incompatible and must simply be placed within the duality
of the kajira's life. On one hand, she must show utmost compliance
and never publicly question or argue a command, on the other,
she must understand why she does things if she hopes ever to be
able to do them with the natural grace that is hers.
"The
intelligence and sensitivity of many women actually tends
to blossom in bondage, finding within it the apt environment
for its expression, for its flowering. This may have to do
with such matters as the release of inhibitions, happiness,
fulfillment, and such."
---Magicians of Gor, p 194 |
A girl
who knows... who feels... what it is she does in the smallest
tasks and gestures of her service, is likely to be more pleasant
to watch than one who mechanically performs tasks she does not
understand.
"Verna,
I said, is strong willed. She is extremely proud, extremely
intelligent. Excellent, said Marlenus. Such
women, said Marlenus, once conquered, make the most abject
and superb slaves. I have heard this, I said.
Incidentally, brilliant and imaginative women, particularly
if beautiful and high born, are avidly sought in Gorean
slave markets. High intelligence and imagination, perhaps
interestingly from the point of view of a man of Earth,
are highly prized in women by Gorean men.
Indeed,
a woman who is known to be intelligent and imaginative will
bring a much higher price than some duller, but more beautiful,
sister in bondage. Goreans, unlike many men of Earth, have
very little interest in stupid women. The ideal candidate
for Gorean slaver's snare is a highly intelligent, beautiful,
imaginative woman, one who is strong willed, proud, and
free. It is such women that Goreans enjoy making slaves.
Perhaps surprisingly, once conquered, once they have learned
their brand, once they have learned their collar and silk,
they make the most helpless, the most incredibly delicious
slaves."
---Hunters of Gor |
Discipline
and Punishment...
There is, on Gor, no reason needed to punish a slave. If it is
unusual for a Master to be cruel, there are many reasons a slave
will be punished that the non Gorean will not understand at first.
Too, be aware that these punishments may seem, at first, unusually
harsh to you. The Gorean slave is subject to rules that leave
little space for error, and of course, as she has no rights, anything
may be done to her, be it to punish, train, or merely to enforce
upon her the depth of her bondage. The whip for example, is not
always used to punish, in many situations a Master will feel it
is time to let His girl feel the kiss of the whip to remind her
that she is slave.
"`What
do you think should be her punishment ?' asked Callimachus
of me. `If she is guilty,' I said, `whatever you wish, as
she is a slave.' This was in full accord with Gorean law.
Indeed, anything, for whatever reason, or without a reason,
may be done to a slave."
---Guardsman of Gor, p 115 |
In most
of the online Gorean community, a slave may be punished only by
her Master when in her home. There are to this exception and a
girl should inform herself of what they are.
She will
understand though that if any Free chooses to punish her, it is
not up to her to state the rules, she, as always, will obey.
Be forewarned
as well, that the rules of your home have no bearing on what may
be done to you outside of this home. If a girl finds herself in
anothother place, she will be subject to the whim of any there.
In NO SITUATION is it acceptable for a girl to run away from her
actions.
"Any
free man may discipline an insolent or errant slave, I said,
even one who is the least bit displeasing, even one he might
merely feel like disciplining. If she is killed, or injured,
he need only pay compensation to her master, and that only
if the master can be located within a specific amount of time
and requests such compensation. In virtue of such customs
and statutes the perfect discipline under which Gorean slaves
are kept is maintained and guaranteed even when they are not
within the direct purview of their masters or their appointed
agents."
----Players of Gor, p 235 |
Whether
or not a girl thinks she has done wrong is irrelevant, whether
or not a girl thinks the Free who wants to apply the punishment
has that right or not is irrelevant, she is always to defer this
judgment to her Master or Mistress, and to accept her fate in
the meantime.
"The
discipline of a slave may be attended to by any free person,
otherwise she might do much what she wished, provided only
her Master did not learn of it. The legal principle is clear,
and has been upheld in several courts, in several cities,
including Ar."
---Magicians of Gor, p 122
"You
cannot punish me! she cried. You are not my masters!
Any free person can punish an errant slave girl, I said.
Surely you do not think that her behavior fails to be subject
to supervision and correction as soon as she is out of her
Master's sight?"
----Magician of Gor, p 225
"When
one who is a slave strikes a free person the penalty is
not infrequently death by impalement, preceded by lengthy
torture."
---Assassin of Gor, p 74
"In
most cities, even the touching of money, unless in an authorized
situation, is prohibited to slaves."
---Dancer of Gor, p 238 |
Duties
...
"The
absolute truth must be spoken to a Gorean master. It is
forbidden to a girl to hide her feelings"
---Captive of Gor, p 346
"A
slave girl is not permitted to conceal anything from her
master. She is his. She must be completely open to him,
in all ways, and at all times."
---Hunters of Gor, p 84
"What
is the duty of a slave girl' I inquired. 'Absolute obedience'
she said, frightened. 'What are you?' I inquired. 'A slave
girl,' she said. 'What is your duty?' I asked. 'Absolute
obedience,' she cried out."
---Hunters of Gor, p 258
"I
looked down upon her. 'You are a wanton slave,' I said.
She looked up at me laughing, 'A girl in a collar is not
permitted inhibitions,' she said. It was true, slave girls
must reveal their sexual nature, totally. Do they not do
so , they are beaten."
---Marauders of Gor, p 278
"It
is common,' I said, `for a slave to request permission to
speak.' 'Forgive me, Masters!' she wept. 'You are men! You
are men! A slave begs forgiveness!"
---Magicians of Gor, p 226
"One
of the utilities of a slave, of course, is to occasionally
serve as the helpless object upon which the Master may vent
his dissatisfaction, his frustration or anger. Too, of course,
they may serve many other related purposes, such as the
relief of tensions, to relax oneself and even to calm oneself
for clear thought."
---Magicians of Gor, p 134 |
A
girl and her home...
As
stated before, one of the few choices a slave has, is that of
which room she enters and settles in. Once a girl has been collared
to the fortress, or to a Master of the fortress, this becomes her home.
It is a
girl's duty to make this home a place that others will come to.
The world of online Gor is vast and diversified, a home where
noone speaks or moves isn't likely to be one that will draw newcomers.
The fact that the fortress is empty should never be a reason for a
girl not to go there, or stay there when she can. She needs to
remember she is not a visitor, but property of this home... a
girl who "chooses" to come home only when her master
is there, crawls all over Him for attention then swiftly disappears
as soon as He does, may as well be in any other chatroom. It is
true that a girl's home is with her Master... but if her Master
has chosen the fortress as His Home, a girl would do well to remember
that her actions and behavior reflect on the quality of His choice
of girl.
The same
applies to fortress slaves, consider... that if you are seen as one
who "chooses" who she serves and when, your understanding
of slavery will be questioned and that this will make owning you
a rather poor attraction. The collar you wear ties you to the
well being of your home and Master(s)/Mistress(es), this includes
giving all that you have to make your home grow.
Being home
alone is an opportunity to catch up with chores, practice dances,
bathe and a multitude of other things... if those who are bound
to a home do not spend time in it... who will?
Restriction
... and
the sharing of slaves
What a slave may or may not do, who she may or may not serve and
to what extent, where she may or may not go and when, is always
up to her Owner. As much as some would like to make fusses about
how not sharing your slave is unGorean... or how every girl should
always be useable by any Man... the truth is that no matter what
silk tag a girl wears, no matter if she is pleasure slave by training,
dancer, or plain mat slave, the use of a girl, so long as she
isnt wandering to unknown territories, is the sole decision of
her owner. Many places have set up this "badge" system
to advertise who may and may not be shared... i suppose to each
their own ~s~ it remains unnecessary as the books do show us many
times. Men didn't walk into the homes of their hosts and grab
a girl without either being offered her use, or having requested
it.
Clearly,
the definition ans symbolism of the collar gives us something
to think on...
"The
girls are usually branded impersonally, perfunctorily, as
cattle. Though they feel the mark intensely physically, it
is felt, interestingly, even more intensely, more profoundly,
psychologically; not unoften it, in itself, radically transforms
their self images, their personalities; they are only slaves,
not permitted their own wills, rightless, at the bidding of
masters; the mark is an impersonal designation; this is understood
by the girls; when she is marked she understands herself not
to be marked by a given man for a given man, to be uniquely
his, but rather, so to speak, that she is marked for all men;
to all men she is a slave girl; usually, of course, only one
among them, at a given time, will be her master; the brand
is impersonal; the brand marks her property; the brand is
impersonal; the collar is intensely personal; the brand marks
her property; the collar proclaims whose property she is,
who it is who has actually taken, or paid for, her; that the
brand is an impersonal designation of absence of status in
the social structure is perhaps another reason why masters
do not often brand their own girls; the brand relationship
to the free man is institutional; the collar relationship
on the other hand is an intensely personal one."
---Tribesmen of Gor, p 42 |
If you
are State property, the men of the State will set upon you the
extent of your use and who this extends to. Owned slaves will
of course follow their Master's commands. Note that silk color
is not necessarily the guideline for limitation and restriction.
It is ridiculous for a girl to think she will not be shared, this
remains the right of her Master.
"I
suddenly hated being a slave! Was this possible? That
I should be so casually put, in the liberality of a Gorean
host, at the disposal of guests? But of course it was
possible! I was only a slave! But why would he do this
to me, to me? Was I truly to him only this, only another
slave, to be put without a second thought to the purposes
of guests, merely another amenity or convenience to them,
as night be a napkin or finger bowl, or a comfort, such
as a blanket, or and extra cushion for his couch."
---Dancer of Gor, p 430
"In
a dinner given for his rowdy male companions, of course,
in which even unmixed wines might be served, she, obedient,
writhing and sensuous, is quite a different girl. Perhaps
he has even purchased her some training, from local slave
masters. His guests, uncontrolled in their desire, driven
half mad with passion, will mightily envy him his girl.
Perhaps he, in Gorean hospitality, will share her with
them, but, in the end, when they have gone, it is at the
foot of his own couch that she, licking and kissing, and
begging, will be chained."
---Guardsman of Gor, p 106 |
AND IT
IS JUST AS RIDICULOUS TO ASSUME all girls will be shared, or
to deem unGorean the fact that a man refuses to share His slave.
If it is widely known that the white silk tag applies to virgins
and hence forbids use, the mere fact that you wear yellow or
red silks makes you not available to All and Any, it is your
collar that restricts you, the Owner of a slave has ALL rights
to deciding who makes use of the slave.
"These
girls may be exchanged among the men, but commonly they
are not. Most masters are rather possessive about their
slaves, particularly if they are fond of them."
---Guardsman of Gor, p 209
"Although
Marcus was harsh with his slave, pretending even to a
casual and brutal disdain for her, he was also, it might
be mentioned, extremely possessive where she was concerned.
Indeed, he was almost insanely jealous of her, She was
not the sort of girl, for example, whom he, as a host,
even at the cost of a certain rudeness and inhospitality,
would be likely to hand over for the nightly comfort of
a guest. It would be at his slave ring alone that she
would be likely to find herself chained."
---Magicians of Gor, p 27 |
Travel
...
Fortress slaves of the fortress do not wander Gor alone. Personally owned
slaves will be expected to know Their Owner's law and refrain
from traveling if this law has not been stated.
Remember
above all, by traveling without your Master, you place yourself
in a position where His control of what may or may not happen
to you is left to the whim and pleasure of others. If you are
not to serve anywhere but home, visiting anywhere may very well
place you in a situation where no matter what you do, you will
be disobeying. Your attitude, your words and your actions, will
be held up as evidence of the training you have received, do not
think lightly of how others will look at you.
Rights?
...
"`In
the eyes of Gorean law you are an animal. You have no name
in your own right. You may be collared and leashed. You
may be bought and sold, whipped, treated as the master pleases,
disposed of as he sees fit. You have no rights whatsoever.
Legally you have no more status than a tarsk or vulo. Legally,
literally, you are an animal.'"
---Explorers of Gor, p 316.
"Several
weeks ago in Ar there had been some attempts upon the part
of the Ubarate, as a social-control procedure, to facilitate
its governance, a venture doubtless emanating from Cos,
which had reason to fear an alert, healthy foe, to reduce
the vitality and virility of the men of Ar, to further crush
and depress them...
This
was to be followed by legislation encouraging, and then
apparently to later require, more modest garmenture for
slaves.
There
were even suggestions of attempting to regulate the relationships
obtaining between Masters and slaves.
There
was some talk of greater 'respect' for slaves, that they
might be permitted to drink from the higher bowls at the
public fountains, even the insanity that one might not be
able to make use of them without their permission, thus
turning the Master into a slave's slave...
On
the other hand the first straws testing the winds of Ar,
cast in the streets, in the baths, in the taverns and markets,
had been blown back with such fierceness that these castrative
proposals had been immediately withdrawn...
Revolution,
I do not doubt, would have occurred in the city. The men
of Ar would have died rather than give up at least the retained
semblance of their manhood."
---Magicians of Gor, p 211 |
uncollarings
and runaways
...
"The
slave cannot free herself. She can be freed only by an
owner. The condition of slavery does not require the
collar, or the brand, or an anklet, bracelet or ring, or
any such overt sign of bondage. Such things, as symbolic
as they are, as profoundly meaningful as they are, and as
useful as they are for marking properties, identifying masters,
and such, are not necessary to slavery.
They
are, in effect, though their affixing can legally effect
imbondment, ultimately, in themselves, tokens of bondage,
and are not to be confused with the reality itself. The
uncollared slave is not then a free woman but only a slave
who is not then in a collar.
Similarly
a slave is still a slave even if her brand could be made
to magically disappear or, if she has been made a slave
in some other way, if she has not yet been branded. Indeed,
some masters, somewhat foolishly, I think, dally in the
branding of their slaves. Indeed, some, perhaps the most
foolish, do not brand them at all. Such girls, however,
when they come into the keeping of new masters, usually
discover that oversight is promptly remedied."
---Renegades of Gor, p 273
"Theft
or capture, if you prefer, conferred rights over me. I would
belong to, and must fully serve, anyone into whose effective
possession I came, even if it had been by theft. The original
master, of course, has the right to try to recover his property,
which remains technically his for a period of one week.
If I were to flee the thief, however, after he has consolidated
his hold on me, for example kept me for even a night, I
could, actually in Gorean law, be counted as a runaway slave,
from him, even though he did not technically own me yet,
and punished accordingly."
