Update 12/29/01 I haven't really checked my mail for a week. I was away for family inclinations and I'm happy to know that everything is alright. As well, I was out with my friends, you know the usual. There were bands that played on some nights, then reunions. I don't know about your culture, but we here in the Philippines are pretty complex in terms of traditions. A cow had been slaughtered for the celebration, I was able to witness the right way to kill it, skin it, and chop its meat. You might accuse me of being sadistic, but I thought that moment was quite wonderful. So, I had some friends over to our house, and I served them food. I should say it was an eating marathon, since we ate from noon to nearly dusk. Thanks to alcohol, it was never boring for us, we chatted intimately. It's always good to tell a story when it was a few days ago. Further than that, on my way home, it was like an odyssey. First, I found myself in the airport with my two siblings who are studying Medicine, same school where I study pharmacy. You see, we were about to board the plane, and we were at the weighing section for our baggages when the lady at the counter commented on my ticket. She said that my flight was supposedly in the morning, and the plane took off earlier that day. Both my siblings were able to ride on the airplane back home, and I was left there, with enough money to rebook my flight. I went to the ticketing office, then I requested for vacancies in the other schedules. It was last Dec. 22 and the it turned out that the only available flight was on the 24th. It was a crazy moment, I didn't know what to do. Confused to the bones, I resorted to my mobile phone. I contacted my other brother, because there's like four of us studying in Manila. He was my last resort. I phoned him, asked for guidance. Then, in a brotherly manner, he told me to go to SM Bacoor, it's a mall in Cavite, Philippines. I went there with 2,000 pesos in my pocket with a huge bag. First, we met at the ground floor, near the entrance. Finally, I saw my brother and his girlfriend, I was rescued. I ate at Chowking alone because they had already finished eating. Her girlfriend, also my former classmate in Southwestern University in Cebu, invited me to the Christening of her cousin, as well. We went to her relatives' place, and there I freshened up. I ate well. So, the following day was Sunday, and coincidentally, the schedules of our tickets were the same. 6:30 am, Air Philippines, via Cebu. Taal Volcano was near to Cavite, that's why we decided to go there, in Tagaytay. The place was pretty cold even with a sweater on. We enjoyed our stay there and bought souvenirs. We finally went home the next day flying high in the sky. I'm happy that my twist of fate happened for a good reason. God had plans for me.
