I went to see an audiologist today to get my hearing checked again. I still have the same hearing loss: 50-60dB (moderate/severe loss) in the high tones. She said that the type of hearing loss is sensorineural, which is typically permanent. It's still possible that it could come back, but if it's not back within the next 3 months it's most likely gone for good. Same goes for the tinnitus I have in that ear. I met with my primary doctor afterwards and she recommended a complete psychological evaluation. She suspects that I may be making my symptoms worse with stress.
