Nashville Schools - A Proud History, A Bright Future!
Nashville's reputation as the "Athens of the South" comes as much from its proud history of public education as from the full-sized replica of the Parthenon in our city and the wealth of higher education institutions in the area. Beginning in 1855, Nashville became the first Southern city to establish a public school system. The first school was Hume School, located where Hume-Fogg Magnet School stands today.

The items are delivered directly to the school library media center by the school delivery system and are returned to the lending library the same way.
