Spring Festival - April 8, 2000

The Gower Elementary School PTA is busy planning their Annual Gower Spring Festival, to be held Saturday April 8th, 2000. The school will host a silent and a live auction, as well as free kids games and activities, educational exhibits and activities, bake sale and a cookout by Dale McWright. Event organizers are seeking tax deductible donations of items and services to be auctioned off in the silent and live auctions. Field Trip - February 4, 2000

On Friday, February 4th, students from kindergarten, fourth and first grades attended a reception given by Zeitgeist Gallery, Fido Coffeehouse, and The Elephant Sanctuary to learn more about the Elephant Sanctuary and to see their own Elephant Art on display.

The Gower school students artwork for the Elephant Sanctuary is now on display at Fido's Coffeehouse, 1812 21st Avenue, South, in Hillsboro Village. It will be on display there until March, 2000. At that time the art will be moved to the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald and placed on a website. Click here for more information and some photos from this field trip.

Gower's Pet Day

Gower Elementary School's Fourth Grade Class celebrated Pet Day, Thursday, January 20, 2000. The students brought in their pets from 2:30 until 3:30 pm to meet their friends. There were all kinds of dogs happily licking and barking in the 4th grade hall science room, while more exotic pets made their appearance upstairs. There were gerbils, birds, a frog, a rat snake, rabbits and an iguana. Click here to see some photos of the students and their furry, feathered and scaly friends.
