524. John HARRINGTON *
(210) was born on 24 Aug 1651 in
Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. He died on 17 Jul 1741 in Waltham, Middlesex Co.,
MA. John served as a member of the Watertown Company in the Narragansett Campaign,
at Kingston, Rhode Island, during the Great Swamp Fight in King Philips War.
He also served in Capt. Beers' Watertown Company at Northfield, was wounded
twice and lived to escape the encounter. He and Hannah had twelve children: Hannah,
b.9 Aug 1682, m. Hammond; John, b. Oct 1684; Mary, b. 11 May 1687, m. Hammond;
Lydia, b. 2 Mar 1689, m. Cutter; George (recorded); Jonas, b. 2 Apr 1695; Patience,
b. 10 Oct 1697; Ann, bpt. 31 Mar 1700, m. Cutter; Sarah, b. 6 Mar 1701; Ruth,
b. 24 Jan 1704, m. Bullard; Josiah and twin Joshua, b. 12 Jun 1709. He was married
to Hannah WINTER * on 17 Nov 1681 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA.
525. Hannah WINTER * was born on 10 Apr 1655 in Watertown, Middlesex
Co., MA. She died on 17 Jul 1741 in Waltham, Middlesex Co., MA. Hannah was
the daughter of John Jr. and Hannah (Cutler) Winter of Watertown and Lexington.
Children were:

Hannah HARRINGTON(211) was born
on 9 Aug 1682 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. She died after 4 Apr 1764 in
Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. Hannah married 29 April 1703, Eleazer Hammond,
b.12 November at Newton, d.aft 1744, son of Thomas, Jr., and Elizabeth (Stedman)
Hammond. Her will was dated 4 April 1764 and mentions son Ephraim and daughters
Patience Chamberlain, Hannah Green, Abigail Harrington, Susanna Fulham, Lydia
Hammond, and grandaughter Lydia Hammond. Eleazer and Hannah had a total of 9
children. Their daughter Abagail married her cousin Richard Harrington of Lexington,
28 October 1731.

John HARRINGTON(212) was born in
Oct 1684 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. He died on 29 Nov 1750 in Lexington,
Middlesex Co., MA. John married at Watertown, 12 April 1705, Elizabeth Cutter,
born 5 March 1680/1 in Cambridge, died 8 February 1749/50 at Lexington, the daughter
of William and Rebecca (Rolfe) Cutter. Although their childrens births are recorded
at Lexington, records indicate they didn't arrive in there until 1713. Their
children were: Elizabeth, 1705; Richard, 1707; Moses, 1709; Henry, 1711; John,
1713-1750; Hannah, 714; William, 1716-1717; Abigail, 1718 (m.John Patts, 1738),
and Caleb, 1747. John's wife was the sister of his sister Lydia's husband John.

Mary HARRINGTON(213) was born on
11 May 1687 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. She died on 18 May 1760 in Waltham,
Middlesex Co., MA. Mary married in Watertown, 8 March 1708, Thomas Hammond,
who was born 17 November 1685, died 22 October 1762 in Newton (ae 27), the son
of Lt. Thomas and Sarah (Picard) Hammond. Thomas Jr. was selectman of Newton
from 1730-32. Mary and Thomas had 10 children.

Lydia HARRINGTON(214) was born in
1689 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. She was baptized on 2 Mar 1689/90 in Watertown,
Middlesex Co., MA. She died on 7 Jan 1755 in Arlington, Middlesex, MA. Lydia
married Deacon John Cutter who was baptised at Cambrdge, 15 September 1700, died
21 January 1776 in Arlington, the son of William and Rebecca (Rolfe), Cutter.
Lydia's husband was the brother of her brother John's wife Elizabeth. Lydia
and John had 11 children and were among the founders of the Arlington 1st Congregational
Church.

Jonas HARRINGTON(215) was born on
2 Apr 1695 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. He died on 10 Jan 1780 in Weston,
Middlesex Co., MA. Jonas was married in Watertown, 2 April 1724, to Abigail
Stearns who was born in Lexington, 12 May 1700, and died 7 April 1785, in Weston.
She was the daughter of John and Judith ((Lawrence) Stearns of Watertown. Jonas
and Abigail settled in Weston about 1734 and were admitted to the 1st Church
of Weston in 1736. They had 10 children, the first half recorded in Watertown,
the other in Weston: Patience, 1724 (int. to John Warder, 1749); Eunice, 1726
(m.Nathaniel Parkhurst, 1744); Abigail, 1728 (m.Thomas Partridge); Mary, 1728
(m.Josiah Bigelow, 1730); Elizabeth, 1731(m.John Fiske, 1753); Noah, 1734 (RevWar
Soldier); Ruth, 1736 (m.John Parmenter, 1756); Soloman, 1738-1750; Jonas, 1740
(m.Jane Bent, 1740); and Sarah, 1742 (m.Increase Leadbetter, 1762).

MA.

Ann HARRINGTON(216) was born
in 1700 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. She died on 31 Dec 1777 in Arlington,
Middlesex, MA. Ann married first on 10 November 1720, Samuel Cutter (b.17 Jan
1700, d.27 Sep 1737, son of Wm. and Rebecca (Rolfe) Cutter. She married second
on 31 March 1743, Nathaniel Francis (b.1693, d.2 Sep 1764). Ann had 7 children,
assumed by her first husband, who was the brother of her sisters husband John,
and brother John's wife Elizabeth.

Sarah HARRINGTON was born on 6 Mar 1701/2 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA.

Ruth HARRINGTON(217) was born on
24 Jan 1704/5 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. Ruth married at Watertown on
14 May 1726, Jonathan Bullard (his second), who was born 24 January 1701/2 in
Weston, the son of Jonathan and Anna Bullard. They had 8 children.

Josiah HARRINGTON(218) was born
on 12 Jun 1709 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. He died on 22 Jul 1779 in Worcester
Co., MA. Josiah married in Watertown on 29 May 1730, Dinah Flagg, who was born
in December 1709 and died after July 1779; daughter of Allen and Sarah (Ball)
Flagg. They settled first in Waltham then resettled in Worcester about 1754,
where Josiah was a yeoman and his will written in 22 July 1779. He owned a pew
in The Worcester meeting house. Their children, all recorded at Waltham; Huldah,
1731 (m.David Pierce, 1755); Dinah, 1733 (m.Seth Russel, 1755); Elijah, 1734-1811
(m1.Azubah Rice, 1758, m2.Mehitable Draper, 1768, m3.Mary Gleason, 1785); Tabitha,
1739; Elizabeth, 1739 (m.David McClellan, 1760); Sgt. Josiah, 1740-bef.1786 (m1.Mary
Jones, 1764, m2.?); Hannah, 1741 (m.---- Fosgate); Jemima, 1744-1747; Sarah,
1746 (m.Phineas Whitney, 1770); Jemima, 1748 (m.Uriah Ward, 1767); Ann, 1749
(unm in 1779); Mary, 1751 (m.--- Earl); and Silas, 1752. Josiah and his twin
Joshua lived to a ripe old age.

Joshua HARRINGTON(219)
(220) was born on 12 Jun 1709 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. He
died in 1791 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA. Joshua married first on 17 January
1731, Elizabeth Truesdale, daughter of Samuel Truesdale of Waltham; may have
died in childbirth, 1737. Joshua married second in Smithfield, Rhode Island,
on 25 May 1738, Mary Truesdale, sister of his first wife. Their intention was
recorded in Boston on 28 April 1739. Josgua, at age 68, served as a private
with Capt. John Bannisters company, Col. Job Cushings regiment, during the Bennington
alarm of 1777 (Mass Records, Vol 17, pg 88). Children from Joshua and Elizabeth,
recorded in Waltham: Elizabeth, 1733-1736; Sarah, 1734; Elizabeth, 1736; Lucia,
1737. Child born to Joshua and Mary; Joshua, 1751-1817 (m.Sarah Bigelow, 1775,
RevWar Soldier, 1777, served with father in same Reg but different Co). Joshua
and his twin Josiah lived to a ripe old age. |
