        Hello everyone!!

The above is a Final Fantasy 3 cross-stitch I created based on character sprites from the video game. It took about 2 months to do, working from before Christmas 1997 to the last week of February 1998. Note that I was not working on it constantly, but off and on over the course of weeks.

Material is 14-ct pale blue Aida cloth. The original design is approx. 7" x 7". About 52 different colors of thread were used. Nearly all of the design was 2 strands of thread per stitch.

The title is done with 3 strands of Kreinik metallic peacock blending filament (if you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that the scanner picked up). The decorations and name are 2 strands of #934 Dark Avocado Green with 1 strand of Kreinik metallic peacock.

        Character names:

Top row: Terra, Locke, Edgar, Sabin, Celes
Middle row: Gau, Setzer, Umaro, Shadow, Cyan
Bottom row: Kefka, Strago, Mog, Relm, Gogo

Kefka was the character I had the most difficulty with in the sense that I couldn't get a sprite of him for the longest time. If I hadn't found a sprite for him, I would have had to use Shadow's dog Interceptor instead, so I'm glad I found Kefka. :) Kefka, for those who haven't played FF3, is the villain. (And, IMO, one of the cooler characters! ;) In the past people have said I liked the villains best.) Interceptor is not included because I don't consider the dog a character in the same sense as the other 15.

I had a lot of fun with this (can't you tell? ;) and the piece is now framed and on my wall, with a mat the same color as the light blue of Umaro or Mog, and a dark blue metal frame.

So let me know what y'all think! Mail Me!

Here are the original sprites I created the cross-stitch from.
