Tommy Cunningham was born in Glasgow on the 22nd of June 1964, the youngest child and only son to parents Tom and Isobel who already had three daughters.
As a child, Tom would pretend to play drums with his mother's knitting needles on the arm of the sofa, but by the age of eleven he had his own drum kit which his father bought him. Tommy learned the drums quickly and his father made him play at the working men's clubs, which gave him the confidence to join a young band with Graeme Clark, whom he had met in school.
Tom was Wet Wet Wet's drummer up until late November 1997 when he suddenly left the band for "personal reasons". Tommy was the one who always cracked a joke, the one who always looked out for his mates, would always be approachable to the fans, who would always answer the curly questions during interviews, and the one who - in over 10 years of fame and fortune - never once changed his hair style!!!
