New life for an old 240
At present I am rebuilding a new 240 pretty much from scratch. I will
include a few pictures and try to update this site with new ones as it
progresses.
The old 240 I have given to a friend of mine and I am helping him fix
it up for his son who is eagerly waiting for his sixteenth birthday. This has
turned into a bit of a chore in itself. The engine has been returned to more or
less stock configuration . It will still have headers but the but the Webbers
will go onto the new car I am building. I actually have a set of triple Solex
40's but I am more familiar with the Webbers. This left me with the task of
building two functioning SU's out of a pile of mouldering carbs I've had laying
around. It is a fairly low budget job with most of the money ear-marked for the
paint and body work. Some of the engine aluminum is pollished and
other parts have been cleaned up and painted. All in all it is coming along
fairly good. At least when my friend's son shows up in the High-school parking
lot he won't be driving some funky lowered Honda with a boom box. Besides we are
conditioning him to hate front wheel drives ( the only front wheel drive I ever
drove that I liked was my Austin Mini). TO EACH
HIS OWN AS IT WERE.

Updated photos to follow as I get them.....
Well...so here are the updated photos. (Did you have a good drive ? ) Today I
said good-bye to the ole...240, got her up and running , took her for a test
drive and well...she's gone, not forgotten and definatlely not for good.
To the body shop she goes. A new lease on life etc. Still, nice to take her for
a spin again. Even with the SU carbs back on her she still has a lot of ...well
if you own a "Z" you know what I mean.
Shaver's watching you !
Some rebuild 260 Z seats, they were the only matching pair of seats I
had.
Pictures of The speaker boxes installed on the roll cage.
