interjections

Interjections are expressions like "Wow!" or "Gee Whiz." In Latin "interjection" means something that is thrown in. Interjections are just that, something thrown into a sentence without any structural relation to the rest of the sentence. For example:

Gosh, did you see how fast that VW was going?
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?
