``Ben and Izora were killed when struck by two trains moving in opposite directions in San Bernardino on March 14, 1955. He served in World War I as a Sergeant. U.S. Army, A.E.F., with the 33rd Division, and fought in the Argonne, September 1918. Izora's son, Jesse Shaner, U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S. POLLUX, when it was wrecked off the coast of Newfoundland Feb. 18, 1942. Jesse married Beverley Mills on July 18, 1942. They have three children; Michael, Deborah and ? (Jerry). Ben had no children.''
