Timothy immigrated to the US in 1852 and was naturalized as a
US citizen according to the 1900 census. The 1910 census says 1866,
but I think that is a date confused with his son-in-law.
Timothy was the son of James McGrath (b. 1795 in Ireland) and
Elizabeth Sewell (b. 1805 Fredericktown, New Brunswick).
He was farming in Newton Township, Illinois in 1870, and
moved to Clinton by 1885, when he's listed in the census there
on 16th Ave.
