After John married Bridget, they moved to Nodaway Township, Adams Co., Iowa in 1896. They lived there a short time, then moved to Taylor Co (Holt Twp), then about 1899 they moved to a farm in Mercer Twp of Adams Co., where Bridget died.

After John and Katherine married, they moved to Adams county, Iowa, and later moved to Minnesota. In 1929 they moved to Vail, Iowa, where they lived the rest of their lives.
