Joseph and a group of other men started the Austin Canning Company in 1899. Within a few years, Joseph and his son Ivan bought and traded their way into ownership of the whole company. It was renamed the Morgan Packing Company in 1917 and is now called Morgan Foods, and is still controlled by the Morgan family. It also includes the American Beauty Foods company.
