During WW I, Ralph was drafted into the army and served in the
balloon corps. He was stationed at Ft. Crook near Omaha and
near the end of the war his company was sent to Langly Field, WV.
After his discharge he returned home to Nebraska. He and Ardis
made their home on a ranch north of Keystone, NE. This is just
the next county south of Arthur Co.
There is a Renee Hawkins buried 26 Nov 1982 in Ogallala Cemetery,
which is where Ralph and Ardis are buried. I don't know whether Renee
is related.
