Q: How would you decribe yourself?
A: See the old FAQ, which this FAQ supplements.
Q: What is your name?
A: Keinall Caddle. Obviously, I generally go for Granitor, when "on the net".
Q: I have a question not asked in your FAQs. Will you answer it?
A: Maybe, just send email to: granitor@yahoo.com, and I will answer it (eventually).
Q: What IRC Networks do you frequent?
A: I'm an oper on doot.fdf.net, which is part of a small but kool network of IRC servers, including FDFnet, AGOGnet, and former parts of FEFnet.
Q: Where do you go to escape?
A: Escape? I happen to live in the most relaxing country on Earth, and, if you doubt that, that's because you've never been to Barbados...
Q: Sound like you spend a lot of time alone.
A: I like spending time with myself, and some of my closest friends are close to me simply because they enhance my aloneness, that is, I feel comfortable and unrestrained in their presence, and I feel a lot of myself radiating from them.
Q: Is this FAQ ever going to end?
A: Yes, but not in a hurry.
Q: Do you have a girlfriend, wife, lover, or other such?
A, short: None of your business.
A, long and twisted: see the Old FAQ.
Q: Are you a hacker?
A: No, I'm an Information Technology Specialist.
Q: What's the difference?
A: Basically, I'm not as intense as a true hacker. Nor, consequently, as technically adept.
Q: What programming projects are you working on?
A: My current conceptual project is C99. Chip is doing more actualy kode in this respect, I am working to sharpen my koding skills with the M Project.
Q: What other computer systems do you own?
A: Besides Phil (my WUS-inducing box), I own a working C64 (with a 1541-II disk drive), a broken 64 (the graphic chip's dead), a working Atari 2600 (except I broke the reset/select cable), a broken PSX (which is now in parts...), a working PSX (Soul Blade rules), and that's about it, besides my CASIO 9850G calculator, and my CASIO SF-3300 thingy that I used for phone numbers.
I used to have another PSX, but I gave that to a buddy of mine.
Q: Do you plan on getting more computers?
A: I am constantly acquiring more equipment, and making use of the equipment I have in new and unusual ways.
Q: What is WUS?
A: Windows User Syndrome, an induced state of apparent stupidity and "simpletonness" which is caused by prolonged interaction with programs which follow the Windows philosophy (and hence, it is not exclusive to Windows, nor necessarily present in all Windows users, e.g. somone who doe snothign but play Quake and StarCraft may not be exposed to the Microsoft Windows UI Philosophy for long enough to be WUS'd, and users of similar systems, e.g. MacOS, may experience similar symptoms to "classic WUS" cases.).
As I have been using Windows 98 as my single OS for over 4 months straight, I can now be considered to be of moron-class intellect, suffered form advanced WUS... I doubt even Linux could help me now...
Q: How do you support this expensive hobby?
A: Well, I worked for over a year non stop, first at AM&G Ltd., then at Sanga International, and accumulated signifigant savings before leaving Sanga in Feb. of this year (1999 A.D.), the reason being to attend to personal matters.
Q: When are you going to get a job, you lazy bum?
A: Although I may appear to be a lazy bum, I'm really neither lazy nor am I squandering myself on nothingness.
Q: Okay, so, what are you doing, then?
A: I'm enjoying life.
Q: What's you daily routine like?
A: I abhore anything routine. I do as it pleases me.
Q: What's your typical day like?
A: Like I infered above, I don't have a typical day, however, I did do a mellow rant about my alledged typical day, which I never put online. But if it was, it would be over at this link [this is a 404] if you really wanted to read it...
Q: I've heard you sleep until afternoon.
A: Generally speaking, go to sleep around dawn, so it's only natural I'd wake up after noon.
Q: What's the reason for these unorthodox hours?
A: It's a lot easier for me to work between evening and dawn, there is less noise in my neighbourhood, and at night, it's much kooler. In fact, I belive that the Sun's rays have taken on a very aggressive nature recently, and it would be folly to attempt to challenge them for excessive amounts of time.
Q: Do you still have an imaginary friend named George who has your cousin for a girlfriend?
A: Well, no, not really. My cousin, who was also imaginary, has since disappeared without a trace. In addition, I am now the leader of a global secret nomadic sect, which is so secret, I don't know the name, nor do I know who the members are, however, they provide indirect support for my diabolical Plans of World Domination(tm).
Q: Did you realise that your definition of imaginary numbers was wrong?
A: Yes, I did, but I didn't bother to change it.
I actually blame the ambiguity
of English, however, in order to show that
I do have some idea of what
I'm talking about, here's another
attempt : the square root of negative one is know as i,
and the square root of
positive one, as j. A complex number is defined as one
which can be expressed as a multiple of i
plus a multiple of j.
Q: Do you play videogames?
A: Nowadays, I find I enjoy koding more than playing, although when I get tikky, I get tikky indeed. I find I'm highly critical of videogames, always thinking of what I would do differently, so, I'm gradually working towards actually doing some form of realtime interactive entertainment (RTIS).
This includes not only videogames, but military simulations and demos such as were famous in the days of liberated C64 software (or warez).
Q: What is/are your favourite games?
A: So many games, can't call all! Sometime, I may put up reviews of the games I've played and go at length into why I like them, but, not right now...
Guilty Gear is the best fighting game for one-one one tikking. It rules tikkiness. It would own any arcade.
Soul Blade is also tons of fun, plus the weapons are variable, the anouncer is so freaking kool, the light sourcing is hard... well, my point is that I love SB. All hail.
"Star Ocean : The Second Story" is a great RPG, so far. I like it a lot, it's enough fun for its flaws to be non-issues...
Q: Are you a member of any organisations?
A: Not really, any organisaiton that I'm a member of, I am so inactively.
Yeah, so like, I keep getting questionaires, and I hate to tahe the time to fill them out over and over, so, here's the answer to every quesionnaire quesion i've been asked...
Q: Thine date of birth?
A: Not important. My Life Day is May 19, 1997. If you want to celebrate a day just for me, that would be it.
Q: Where were you born?
A: In a place that is, yet is no more.
Q: Where do you live?
A: In Barbados, the most eastern of the West Indies' island chain. It's the best place in the world to live, but let most people think that it's only fun to visit...
Q: How tall art thou?
A: Shy of six feet.
Q: How else would you describe thineselveth?
A: I won't, I'll direct you to my picture, of which they are currently none in digital form...
Q: Do you like being stalked?
A: If you're female enough, I would love to be stalked by you...
Q: What's you favourite color?
A: Blue, I suppose. If you've ever used a C64, you'd know why...
Q: How is your name pronounced?
A: I made an .au file of me pronouncing my name, the quality isn't the best, though, I have it on my todo list to make another. However, my todo list is a mile and a week of sundays long... Anyhow, it's pronounced like key-nal. Although some people pronouce it kein-all, in particular a past Physics teacher of mine. I don't really care, you can pronounce it however you wish...
