The C99.M7 Series

(some) M7 source code released!

On Feb. 28, 2000, I got together a subset of M7 and packaged it up for public release, calling it M7:Release Edition, or M7:R for short.

The quality of the source is very low, as it its utility, however, I feel it is a better idea to release it than to sit and stare at it any longer.

The source is here in a zipfile and I also build a binary under 9x which you can get over here. The source should also build under Linux, with Allegro WIP. Sort of. You might need to tickle the makefile.

There is a nice readme file included in the source release, read it thouroughly and stuff.

I am now officially on vacation from M7.

IDE MT

The Integrated Development Environmant, Militant Ten Edition, was the latest in m7 technology.

Hark! DMX has a new revision! Download it, Download the experimental "beta" editon, and enjoy living on the bleeding edge of m7 technology!

Most noteworthy recent changes:

A bit of history...

IDE NT

Over several gruelling stunts of koding, I did ident.exe, which imm'd some aspects of the C64's Full Screen Editor.
You can get the binary distro here.

IDE : Militant Ten Edition

After a long period of no koding, I went back to the design docs, and worked out what I wanted to do next: make a library of routines which was called by all of the parsers, and thus implemeted all of the C99 commands, or something, in a more parser-neutral way.

IDE MT is still a very active project, although feature-wise, it has hardly changed at all. Most of the time is spent refactoring, redesigining, ranting, raving, and being recursively redundant.
You can get the binary distro of DMX here.

IDE MT : Beta Edition

This is a beta edition of the main project (IDE MT), featuring a more experimental parser.
You can get the binary distro here.

Other M Stuff

There also exist dead or obsolete m-spawn, which are even less useless than the stuff on this page.

vtest.exe now has it's own page, the reason was supposed to be part of me re-organising this site, but, really, it's still pathetic and useless anyhow.

Requirements

Character Set

All Men and M-spawn need a C64 Character ROM image, or file of similar format. If you have a C64, then you already have this file.

In other words, if your .exe complains about needing CHAR.ROM, then get the file from here, or use the CHAREN image from your friendly C64 emulator!

Rant and Rave and Rant Some More!

I haven't answered this question directly, but I've talked about M at length in various .txt files included with the .zip files, and also I have a few HTML files on this here web page thingy, the mfaq., which is just that, The rant and plan pages were pointless, so I removed them.

Contact info

I have c99@mail.com. Buy, who cares? All email can be sent to my Yahoo! Geocities email account (joy) .

Chip : The other C99 guy.

Chip gave me a nice icon that I used to link to his page directly by, but because his page moves somewhat, check out my link page for the last know location of Chip's C99 page.

Chip is the co-developer of C99 (actually, he started it first with a QuickBasic 4.5 compiled demo, which now features over 30 commands , sprites, and other cool stuff).

Why are you doing this?

C99 is a C64 immulator, as it is supposed to immitate, not emulate.

M7 is the last known stage of C99 development, although rumours of subsequent C99 projects have been known to exist...

This page is here mainly so that my friends who code (or kode) can download the m-spawnen.
