vtest release 3 demonstrates a small subset of the new sprite functions of rendlib2. The sprite code in rendlib2 is also know as the "wiggle extensions to rendlib2". wiggle is very volitile and subject to immediate change, however, I realise all m-spawn have been parcatically useless, so, another useless something won't hurt...
Currently, vtest r3 requires a joystick and the documentation is unfinished. I don't see a reason to document it when I'm gonna change it immediately. All necessary files are included in one zip. Just download, extract, Read The included Text File, vtest.txt, and run the thing.
If you are not comfortable with the command prompt,
you are likely to be scared, offset, bored, or all of the
above, my these programs, as they are designed to be run from
a DOS prompt. A native win32 port is in the works.
Well, not really, but, it is somewhere on my "to try" list...
right next to wrestling wild boar...
vtest r2 is no longer available, but, I wated to leave this here for now. Eventually I'll surpass the featureset of r2 in later releases.
NOTE: vtest.exe will soon be merged into (okay, obsoleted by) mness, as I have a new creation, rendlib2 and I will show it off soon. mness will be a simple runtime thingy which will be used to run .CAS files and show of M to non-koders.
vtest r2 displays the contents of CHAR.ROM, i.e. the lower/upper set and the upper/graphics set.
It also stamps C64.SP2 onto the screen multiple times in different monochromic renderings, using the immitated C64 palette of 4-bit color.
WARNING : READ THIS BEFORE VIEWING OUTPUT FROM VTEST.EXE

Exposure to certain patterns or backgrounds on a televison screen or while playing video games or viewing screen savers, including those which use SMELL(tm), may induce an epileptic seizure in these individuals. Certain conditions may induce previously undetected epileptic symptoms even in persons who have no history of prior seizure or epilepsy. If you, or anyone in your family (excluding domesticated and wild pets), has an epileptic condition, consult your physician prior to playing or watching.
