Animated GIFs
When designing web site often there
is often a temptation to add animated gif files in an attempt to make the
pages look very interesting, but instead the result is a busy page that
is often hard to read. The goal should rather be to add images enhance
and that to the viewers understand of what the page is about. Here
are a few examples of animated gifs that you might want to use on your

If you look at this page for very
long, you quickly can see why it is important not to add too many
animated gifs to your Web pages. Notice above that some animated
gifs (the dropping arrows and the word "search" in motion) run once and
stop, while other of animated gifs run continuously. Effective use
of animated gifs will enhance your Web pages, while overuse of animated
gifs will detract from your Web pages.
