MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT – COURSE 9878

MANUFACTURING AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Course Aim: This course is for people who work in any Manufacturing and Engineering industry or related service industry, and who want to complete a short course in maintenance management without having to complete a full diploma or advanced diploma in Manufacturing Technology or Mechanical Technology. You should be able to learn to apply proven maintenance management techniques to organise maintenance programs in any business organisation.

Course Content: You can choose from specific maintenance modules that deal with a range of skills which are useful in a wide variety of manufacturing, supervisory, quality and service areas. These modules are nationally recognised. You must complete (or be exempt from) a total of 180 hours of study in an approved format in order to be awarded the Maintenance Management Statement of Attainment (9878). The compulsory modules are 7757G Maintenance Systems and 7759V Maintenance Management (90 hours). You must then select additional maintenance elective modules to the value of 90 hours from a selected list of modules (these modules are industry specific ones, which enable a sharper focus on the industrial relevance of the competencies gained).

This course has minimum grouping requirements.

When you finish one or more modules, you can apply for advanced standing in courses that have the same modules.

Course Duration: 180 hours minimum (10 hours a week for 18 weeks).

Attendance: Part time, day and/or evening. Flexible delivery mode is also available upon request.

Note: No pre-application is required. You should attend the college during the advertised enrolment period.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements for this quality course. For some modules you must have specific skills before commencement. This could mean having to complete some pre-requisite modules.

Articulation: When you complete this maintenance course all modules can be credited (advanced standing) to the Manufacturing Technology and Mechanical Technology Diploma and Advanced Diplomas and other courses in the Manufacturing and Engineering area (such as Mechanical Engineering courses).

Career Opportunities: Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technician in the Manufacturing and Engineering Industries as well as in the Hospitality, Financial, Health and Education service areas.
