Tai Chi / Chi Kung is appropriate for all levels. It is helpful to people with limited flexibility or suffering from joint pains. You can attend at anytime with no pre-booking required. The Chi Kung form taught is called "18 Lohan Hands ". There will be special advance class for participants who have learnt the form for some years.
Yoga is appropriate for any level. The postures taught in the class are an essential base from which to work with. Both beginners and experienced students are able to further advance their practice with modified (for beginners) or enhanced (for experienced) postures. Usually the instructor will do a posture where a simplified posture will be demonstrated for people who are less flexible. The class try to explore all aspects of the yoga practice and philosophy. You can begin to attend at anytime. If you attend the class for the first time, please ring before attending, after that, just turn up.
Yoga class structure : Classes are generally 35 minutes asana (postures) and the rest of the time exploring other aspects of yoga practices. 15 minutes relaxation/corpse pose & 10 mins meditation, breathing exercises/pranayama.
Yong Kooi Studied Shiatsu massage, Oki-Do Yoga, Chinese Martial Arts and Chi Kung in early 90s. He went to Burma and Thailand to train in Meditation for 2 years (97-98) as a temprorary monk. He is a current member of Shiatsu Therapy Association of Australia. Graduate Diploma in Classical Yoga. Member of the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia. Certified Chi Kung Instructor (1996) under the guidance of grandmaster Chen Yong-Fa keeper of Choy Lee Fut Martial arts system.
Chi Kung weaves together movement, breathing, self massage and meditation into a gentle art and a complete system of health maintenance. It originated from observing movements of animals and nature. It has some similarity with Tai Chi movements.
The form taught is called "18 Lohan Hands". This form covers a general spectrum of Chi Kung activity from dynamic (Wei Kung) to quiescent/internal (Nei Kung).
