The men of the Snake Platoon came from everywhere. Wherever we came from, our old unit patch was put on the board which hung over the door to one of the hootches. When we left, our name tag was added. There for a while, though, it seems as if most of us just stayed. I don't know who started the board or what happened to it, but it always provoked me to thought. So, to whomever started it, and to those who took care of it, thanks.

The theater pictured here sat between the enlisted men's hootches and those of the senior NCOs (sort of like a miniature DMZ). George believes the infiltrator with his legs bared must be SFC Kemp, and I believe he's right. Judging from the size, his partner must be Lonnie Gulledge. |
Mike Moses, riding in the back of a 3/4 Ton. Except for the expression on his face, it looks to me like he's en route to Cam Ranh Bay. |

I'm not speaking for anyone else, but when all is done and the truth comes out, this picture most accurately reflects the way I saw George. (That may say more about me than it does him, thouth.) |
