february 26, 2001 the gap. i don't actually hate the clothes that much. simple. one colour. no patterns. but that's just it as well. the gap has created this yuppie look-a-like contest all across the states and now it's seeping into canadian culture as well. these people who shop at the gap, which is pretty much everybody...come on admit it you own at least one item from there...all have become carbon copies of each other. the gap wanted it to be a kackie world, and by god they've achived it. but is this a good thing? in my opinion no. it's one of the most blatantly controlled "cultures" out there. when the gap said it was time for colour. everybody "jumped into colour". is that not just a little scary. and why the hell is a STORE a culture? because that is what i fear it has become. they're the mcdonalds of the clothing world. and we need to ask, do we need another mcdonalds..no they're chicken mcnuggets are pretty good :) i'm not the only one out there that fears the gap and it's cult like culture. check out heavy.com |
