Capt. JOHN SHERIDAN - The son of a diplomat. John Sheridan was a war hero of the Earth-Minbari War. He scored the single greatest victory for Earth when he destroyed the Minbari war cruiser The Black Star. That action led him to be decorated by Earth Gov and reviled by the Minbari. SECURITY CHIEF MICHAEL GARIBALDI - Garibaldi had a somewhat checkered past before becoming security chief on Babylon 5. He served for a time as a ground pounder during the Earth-Minbari war. After the war he was stationed on Mars where he was a shuttle pilot. It was during this time that he met Jeffrey Sinclair and was later asked by Sinclair to come to Babylon 5.

Lt. Comm. SUSAN IVANOVA - Born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Ivanova's mother was a telepath who chose not to enter the Psi Corps and was given sleeper drugs to supress her telepathic ability. DR. STEPHEN FRANKLIN - The son of an Earthforce Marine Corps General, Franklin chose to dedicate his life to medicine instead of war. He is an expert in xenobiology, the study of alien lifeforms. During the Earth-Minbari War he refused to give up his notes on the Minbari and was placed in the stockade.

AMBASSADOR LONDO MOLLARI - A self described 'washed-up old Republican', Londo comes from an important Centauri family with a long history of service to the Republic. Before the Earth-Minbari War, Londo was a diplomatic representative on Earth and warned EarthGov not to interfere with the Minbari. But his warnings went unheeded and led to the devastating war between the two races. By the time Babylon 5 was built, Londo had become a joke and sent to B5 because nobody else wanted the position.
