"Fate"

Fate is the night approaching

A somber veil of mystery

My dreams fleet in fear

Into their subconscious sea

Fate takes over my soul

Draws me into her frozen heart

Shadows my searching eyes

Tears my innocence apart

Fate and her demons

Capture my spirit's breath

All hope that lives within me

Will eventually know death

I try not to let my emotion

Animate my tortured soul

I feel the emptiness I conjure

Become a force to console

Twice the pain would come

If I tried to fly away

Her anger I fear more

Than any price I might pay

This inquisition torments me

I scream for the chains to break

But in fate's domain these screams

Are the only decisions I make

Perhaps fate's intentions

Are to teach me what I must know

Perhaps this blind journey of pain

Is a path on which I shall grow

But is mercy such a horrible word

That fate has never spoken of such

And would a chance to be free at last

Be asking for so much

Then suddenly

I see the truth

Come to save me from blind fear

Informing me that fate only guides

That I have brought myself here

The darkness disappears

My eyes are free to see

The chains fall from my arms

And from myself I am free

I will waste not another day

Hiding behind this illusion of misery

Truth will live within my soul

And at last I shall be free
