“ Sammy come here boy!”  I yelled as I started chasing after him along the beach.  “ Sammy, get back here!”   As he ran down the beach with me running after behind him trying to catch him, I noticed how  another dog was doing the same thing, only he was running toward Sammy.  Once the two dogs reached other, I stopped and looked strangely at him as he began playing with the other dog whom he didn’t eve know.
“ I’m really sorry about that.”  said the owner of the other dog that stood there out of breath as I did same.
“ It’s ok.” I said catching my breathe.  “ I don’t know what got into him, I’ve never seen him act like that before nevertheless play with the dog that he’s never seen before.”
“ I know what you mean,” he said looking at them goofing around with each other. “ I’d hate to be the one to break them up when they’re having so much fun.”
“ So what’s your dogs name?” I asked.
“ Jack Daniels.”
“ Jack Daniels?  That’s something you don’t here everyday.”
“ Or Jack for short.”
“ It’s different, but I like it.”
“ Thanks, what about your dog, what’s his name?”
“ Nothing out of the ordinary,” I stated. “ His name is Sammy.”
“ Sammy......I like that, it’s cute.”
“ Thanks.”
“ Well I’m not doing anything right now, I don’t mind waiting till they’re done playing.  That is if your not busy or anything.”
“  Nah, I’m never busy.  I don’t mind waiting.”  I said taking  a seat on the cool sand.
“ Mind if I join you?” he asked.
“ No, not at all.”
“ So do you come here often?” he said sitting next to me.
“ Yeah, usually  around dusk.  Sammy and I come for our evening walk along the beach just about everyday.”
“ So I assume you don’t live too far from here then.”
“  See that house over there?” I said pointing to a two story beige house that sat along the beach with palm trees around it.  “ That’s where I live.”
“ That’s a nice house.”
“ Thanks. So what about you, where do you come here often?”
“ I try to, although I don’t have much time to do so.”
“ Oh I see.”
“ I should really make time though, it’s a wonderful place to relax and just live it up.”
“ Yeah, that’s one of the reason why I come here.  It’s just so......so...what’s the word I’m looking for.......so-”
“ Peaceful” we both said.
“ Exactly.” I stated.  “ Coming here gives me a chance to be at ease with myself and takes my mind off things that I shouldn’t even be worrying about.  It just makes me happy.”
“ I can understand that.  Look around, you have your beautiful sun setting over the ocean, the ocean crashing along the beach and the cool breeze of the evening that sends chills through your body.  I can see why you love coming here.” he smiled.  “ For me, it’s given me a chance to meet someone like you.”
“ Someone like me, huh?”
“ Yeah, a very sweet person with a cute little puppy named Sammy,” He laughed. “ And not to forget, a very beautiful smile.”
“ Thanks.” I blushed.
“ Speaking of meeting each other, we haven’t even introduced ourselves.”
“ Michelle, and you are?”
“ My name is-”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“ Hey beautiful, wake up?” said someone gliding their hand across my face. “ Remember me?”
“ Ummm....Alex, right?”
“ You remembered my name.”
“ Yeah, well I never forget a face.”  I yawned.  “ What are you doing here?”
“ Your father warned me about how pissed you got about this whole thing and how I should be prepared to get yelled at by you.”
“ Hold on, you mean to tell that you’re responsible for all this?”
“ Yeah, I didn’t intend on making you mad or anything like that, I wanted it to be a surprise.”
“ Surprise?  It would’ve been a surprise if I knew who was in charge of all of this.  You have no idea how much it scared me to know that I’d be gone for 12 weeks-”
“ 18 weeks.” he said cutting me off.
“ Not knowing who I’d be with and knowing,” I paused.  “ Did you just say 18 weeks?”
“ Yes.”
“ What happened to the 12 weeks?”
“ I told you father about it, apparently it looks as if he never told you about it.”
“ I can’t believe this.” I said placing my head in my hands.
“ Michelle listen to me,” he said cupping my face with his hands. “ I’m sorry if I terrified you in a way.  I should’ve called you myself and asked you first whether you wanted to do this or not.”
“ I wish you would have.”
“ Believe me I wanted to.”
“ Then why didn’t you?”
“ You’re father said you wouldn’t mind.”
“ Never once did he say anything like that to me.”
“ I’m sorry that it had to be like that.  I made it clear to him that if you didn’t wanna do this for him not to force you into this, we’d  just simply call the deal off.”
“ He never once said that to me at all.  All he spoke of was how great this deal was and how he couldn’t turn it down.  I’m beginning to think that he cares more for the money than his own daughter.”
