Here is more of my first attempt to make soap.

Here it is after 28 hours. It was firm to the touch, but was wet.

Unmolded but very damp. There was some water when I slipped it out of the mold.

Using some commercial soap I was able to figure out how to score my soap. We used a small right square to mark off the bars.

Another look.

One more view before the first cut.

I started to cut it but my husband was a "little" stronger so he did it for me. Oh, alright. The truth is my husband doesn't trust me with knives. I always cut myself.

One row down, two to go.

Now to cut the soap into individual bars.

Thirty-three 2-3 ounce bars, I hope. We shall see what they weigh once they cure and dry.

This is the reason why I am learning how to make soap.

Aren't they pretty! all my bars ready to cure and dry.
